Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
Re: Patch V1.3 at BFCON - squadhopping still removed
zulu,
Sorry, I know of none nor did I say nor imply that I knew of one.
And I doubt that it is part of the engine for it were, I highly doubt EA/Dice would have gone through the headache that would be required to remove it.
And why are you so angry? It is just squad hopping.

Its honestly proberly not going to effect me at all but i realy realy do know what its like to play this game on EA servers on your own i did it for 7 months solid its hellish. The teams are totaly uncoordinated theres barley any teamwork and just having that tiny little help of being able to change squads and spawn into the action makes a big difference between a good day and a bad day of bf2 (or it used to me anyway).
IMO this will have very little impact into the way clans play but pubbers are going to get the rough end of the deal in a big way im lucky after 7 months of looking (i litterally looked at hundreds of clans) for a clan i found one i wanted to be in. But theres going to be poor sods out there that are going to jump on this game on there jack try and play as a team be surrounded by arsewholes tking for vehicals and getting spawn raped. Being able to change squads and get the hell out of that sort of crap and on the other side of a map used to be a saviour for me i would of honestly stoped playing this game along time ago if it werent for squad hoping.
So when you see me here kicking of and complaing its not for me its not for clans its for the poor solo git thats getting spawned raped by a tank, artillary, jets and everything else thats an instant death to a lone soldier. You can try and try as much as you want to play for your team and try to win but if the other 31 people on your side are idiots (youve got to admit some server are full of them) you havnt got a chance.
p.s. a good day for me in bf2 when playing on my own was getting a k/d of 1 or over a bad day was constantly (several times) having to walk 10 minutes across the map only to get instantly killed by a jet as soon as i get there or somthing else that deals instant deaths.

They are changing the program to eliminate SH. You are arguing that you shouldn't have to play with the game the way it is programmed. So saying that you should be able to play quake and get that added to your ranking is just extend your logic to demonstrate its absurdity to you.
Let me try again. Say you think that you should be able to jump 20 feet in the air. The game is not programmed to do this and I am sure that the RoE/EULA doesn't explicitly say jumping 20 feet in the air is unallowed. However, to get a ranked status, you can't alter the game code . . . which is what would be required to get rid of squad hopping.
Gather your (attack)third grade class around(/attack) I'll explain why I mentioned the ROE. I mentioned it as a preemptive rebutal to accusations that my "play how you want to" statements would be taken, nothing more. Mr.Brown and myself had moved to a new realm of the discussion consisting of what attracts players and why they play, stating how you want to play is in reference to whether someone wants to play it as a tactical game, or enjoys the fast paced shoot em up action.
You might as well argue that there should be a server option that allows you to jump 20 feet in the air.
Straws man, straws.
If it isn't relevant, then why did you mention it?
See above
I did know it and pointed it out to you.
I can't believe you are still trying to argue that it wasn't an attack.
Ok fine, it was a personal attack on your character as a human being and a conscience member of society, are you happy now?
game bothered me so much, that is exactly what I would do. I have stopped playing a bunch of games because I thought their rules were stupid or that they broke the game play.
All I was saying is that if you want squad hopping, I am sure there will be plenty of mods that will continue to allow this because it is a popular option. However, it is not what they intended for squads and is basically an exploit and they are fixing it.
Or just servers that run this current version. I like this game, and have no problems with any of the rules, but there is no rule against squadhopping, and if a server had such a rule, I simply wouldn't play there, but I wouldn't whine about it and ask EA/DICE to change it.
Strategically speaking, this game really isn't. It's more of a pick up game, that has structure. Those that truely want to be able to move about from squad to squad will still be able to at a cost of 2 points, and 15 seconds. Those that want to play as tactical trainer will still be able to also.

I have mixed feelings about the miniguns.
Perhaps adjust them somewhere between now and where they have been before.
And don't forget: Transportation vehicles like the Blackhawk will be used more often again generally if squadhopping is removed.
If you take the "teleporter" away from the people, first they start moaning "Whaaaa!! I don't want to walk!!" but then they remember "Oh wait! There have been that transport helos and jeeps here.... actually I don't need to walk!"
At the beginning of a round everyone should at least be able to choose a squad. It would not be a good idea to disable Join/Create Squad at the beginning of a round.
For forcing people to join squads.... I dunno... some snipers might perform a good task as lonewolfs.
People will notice a big disadvantage if squadhopping is removed, and if they don't join a squad for the whole round then, they can't just spawn on any squadleader then. That should encourage to join a squad.
Of course removing squadhopping won't make all pubbers magical teamplayers, but the game will reward real teamplay finally.

It's squadhopping which creates those huge piles of people that pilots can rack up easy kills with.
Of course one could say it's not squadhopping that leaves 20 guys on the deck of the Essex waiting to be bombed by a J10
Sure, sitting around grabassing for a plane or helo is too, but if one squad/squadleader keeps dying trying than what's the difference? At least they are trying an exercise futility the right way?

indeed, why do they let things slide for so long and then decide its a problem and then fix it. people have been squadhopping for over 10 months, and now DICE takes it away, wtf.

Do I complain when I don't like something? Yes. I can't stand alot of the bugs either. The restraurant metaphor doesn't work because in the case of eating out, you know that the food is flawed from the minute you get it, and refuse it until it is done. With this game, it's like you bought the food, had it prepared, ate it and accepted it as good, but for however many months later, you decide to go back to the restaurant and complain about the food you had way back then.
O.K. you read too far into that. So I guess all the bugs that the developers KNOW about before releasing it to the public should be made public prior to us purchasing it? If you say they can't find all the bugs that's fine. But as many and obvious as this game has, it shows they either did not test it enough or the more beleivable we want your money now because our second quarter earnings are sub-par and we need more stock holders vested in us.
It's funny but I don't remember any bugs that were detected in the demo. Was any noted? I honestly don't know. Like I said previously in which I hope you agree as well. They have enough time to fix the bugs that have plaqued this game from day 1. Instead, they have chosen to take the route of not even owning up to the fact that they have failed and provdiing explanations as to why. Instead........Hey here is a new map..........Hey here is some gay jeep dropping......When there are still of all things the squad bug. Where you cant make/join/leave a squad. Yet they want to change it to where you cant squad hop? Fix the problem of that before implementing new aspects into the game in that particular realm. Yet we all know where 98% of their energy is directed towards..... MechAssualt2142.
Re: Patch V1.3 at BFCON - squadhopping still removed
EA are idiots if they remove this feature.
DO NOT DO THINGS THAT SLOW THE GAME DOWN, THAT IS THE WRONG DIRECTION!
You're supposed to be game developers, do you actually ever play this game? A squad of people who will squad cycle is an amazing thing, the warm fuzzies from teamwork that BF2 is supposed to give you can be had in this way. I don't get how you think this is a good idea devs, we need to throw some cold water on you to sober you up.

How about you learn to read. What was deleted by the moderator, that you reported me to being a jump the gun type was an example of what an attack on someone in the forum of the interawebbies WOULD be, if you had bothered to read instead of clicking your cute little report post you'd have comprehended that, but since you didn't, well...whatever.
