Re: "scripts"
Actually, there is no difference at all.
Macro's are keymappings. They just happen to have more then one key mapped to the same button/key.
The point I was trying to make is that the Wingman software is third party and *could* be used to make a macro. Is it therfore considered illegal?
What about the Nostromo software package. It's *very* easy to set up macros by assigning (mapping) keystrokes to the Nostromo keypad. Is that third party software considered illegal??
§ Items not included in this list would be up to EA & DICE to interpret.
THAT'S the bottom line. From other EA games (Ultima Online), they took the stance that "things you could achieve through normal game play would NOT be considered illegal".
What that means is a BF2 macro to:
1 - Change to grenade
2 - Toss one grenade
3 - Change back to primary gun
Would NOT be considered illegal. It's a normal function of the game and could be done easily as well with OR without the macro.
However, performing some action(s) that wouldn't be normally achievable WOULD be considered illegal.
An example of that would be:
1 - Prone
2 - Jump
3 - Constantly Repeat
Which was illegally used by many until a recent patch.
