I rely on pressing my number keys 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, for primary weapons, because my game is very laggy at points graphically, and scrolling doesnt do any good to change my weapons, so i understand being slow on the draw. I also have an optical mouse which flips out if im trying to speed click, haha. But i use the pistol for even long ranges sometimes and get kills, you should try you may suprise yourself.

Im in the same boat, I just find the pistol fairly pathetic, you bring it out and its just so slow to fire/to hard to hit anything. I usually just reload my main weapon and dont use the pistol now.

Even on the stock n52 model:
Most of us pryed out the top row of keys (button 1 to 5), and turned them 180 degrees... This way, the first and second row of keys are closer together and hence are more egonomic...

Second, we turned the 6 and 7 button around, so tha pinky is in a cone in the 6/7/11/12, button...

Wasn't able to use the DAO as I''m at work and only have the demo.

But lying prone with the m16 I was able to roll the mouse at a slow speed and it would behave like a fully automatic. If I further slowed the mouse I could get varied speeds of single fire while able to gently keep on target. This could be very nice in medium to long range gunfights.

          Thanks for the inspiration!
would you be willing to share this..

I can get 10 clicks off my mousewheel in one spin from bottom to top. I will PWN with the pistol now, even though I was already very good with it before. Yeah, clicking the mouse 10 times takes like 2 seconds, while the scroll would be under a second. I gotta remember to do this. Can someone post the config lines for it and what lines to replace?

Wolfenstein had a ton of scripts.

You could write a autoexec.bat file and execute it in game to change the settings.

I've had my n52 for a couple of years now. I honestly don't know how people play on a regular keyboard.

Don't know about switching keys around. I have pretty big hands and can reach all of the keys really easily.

I've thought about doing some macros for it. But like has been said already, you can't macro things the same way in BF2 that you can in other games.

I used to have a macro key that would chat YOU FUXKIN IDIOT. Man I miss that in BF2

BF2 doesn't need nearly as many keys as some games do, but it is still wayyy more comfortable to play all day on an n52 then it is to use a keyboard for even a couple of hours..

I should buy a couple more before they disappear. LOL

You guys really nailed it with the N52, THX

BTW you got any macros on your N52 for BF2?

Fourty-Fizzle, can you tell me why Belkin refuses to release drivers for the nostromos that are compatible with windows xp 64-bit edition? I waited for months always getting the same response from emails, "we don't have drivers, but some may be in the works, etc." Finally I got my hands on a leaked beta but apparently Belkin dropped all work on putting out a final release....What gives?

Can you share a secret how you were able to do that? I was able to bind a joystick button to my main radio but I still have to use LMB to click on "spotted". No binding seems to work for that. Any way to do that in only one button hit??????

Before I quit... I know someone was working on getting an x64 build of the drivers out. But, that said, it in no way suprises me the developer would be pulled half way through the process and put on something else that was "hot"

Im going to email someone there today when I get to work and see if I can get them to look through the server and find a newer build for x64 systems.

If i have any success with that, I will be sure to let you know!

                          Re: "scripts"

I've tried it. I don't feel that it's godly. But it's nice for certain situations.

My main interest in it was for controlled fire at long distances. For, that I found that it made the g36e on single fire very potent. It also was very nice with the PKM. I almost got a little flashback last night to pre 1.22 patch. It will make the DAO fire as fast as the jackhammer.

I found that you could roll the wheel too fast and actually "overload" the fire rate and in effect slow down. A nice steady speed though could deliver nice fire.

Anyway here is how you do it. Open your controls.con file. Mydocuments/Battlefield 2/Profiles/0000*/controls.con (where * = any number)

Find the line near the top where your mouse main fire is and paste this underneath it. PIFire is the key term.

                          ControlMap.addAxisToTriggerMapping -1 c_PIFire IDFMouse IDAxis_2 1

Now scroll down = fire, as well as left mouse.

Post your thoughts. It seems the scroll speed can not be set in game. Anyone, confirm this or know a way to alter it.

So running the Wingman software and mapping keys to buttons on joysticks would be illegal? I think not.

BTW, you missed part of the ROE

There's a big difference between mapping and macros...
