You realize if you were hardware banned, its more than likely they took a PBSS and received a black picture. This usually means that person is hacking/cheating. If that program you had was running at the time you were playing, it might have something to do with it.

Doesn't look go for you right now. Everything points to a hardware ban and 99% of the time it wont get lifted.

Thats not good news dude.. Is there a way i can get around it? Other than have them lift the ban which u said they propbably won't do.

Probably not. What game is it, and what is the ban message?

It's CoD4 and the ban messege is " you have been BANNED" nothing regarding why.

I had to pay $10 for the IP change aswell more wasted money!

COD4 uses punkbuster, as far as I remember PB will generate a GUID for you system, so you will need to replace major HW components to change that.

And then there is the CD key of course.

From the PB article on ECP:

If Punkbuster detects a problem you will be kicked from the game, and a message broadcast to the remaining players.Usually this will only mean that you can not play on that specific server, but the server may be part of a Master Ban List like punksbusted or pbbans, which will share the ban between member servers.

There are also further levels of repercussions, including the PB GUID ban which will ban you from playing that particular game on PB enabled servers, and the PB Hardware ban which will ban your computer form playing on PB enabled servers. That includes all future games with PB support. The latter will be issued for trying to interfere with PunkBuster itself. [2]

You wont know unless you talk to them. Maybe its a temporary ban, maybe you are forever banned from the world of punkbuster.

But it doesn't sound like a automatic PB ban, so they are probably able to unban you if you have a convincing story

I think global PB hardware bans are reserved for those who try to mess with the PB software. But I am not sure what the "ID" that server admins can ban through PB is based on

well i can still join any other server without trouble, it's just the internode ones that im banned from.

Then to be unbanned you have to go deep and find a pair of balls and go talk to the Internode guys and see if you can convince them to unban you.

It's not soo much finding the balls, i just couldn't be bothered calling up my ISP and getting another email just so i can join their shthouse forum and complain. But i guess thats all im left with now.

So instead you rang up, paid $10 and changed your IP?
Surely it would have been easier just to get a new email.

Anyhow, it appears to be server specific rather than PB so count yourself lucky, tottherwise you would have problems.
