    Help IP Change..

I need a "valid" reason to change my IP address.. I was banned from the Internode gaming servers for some unknown reason and rather than join their forum and dispute it with them i have chosen to just change my IP address.. HOWEVER my ISP say's i need to email them a "valid" reason as to why i want my IP changed.. what could i say? i don't think the real reason will be sufficient.

lol i was thinking of saying something similar to that, do you think that will be sufficient enough for them to actualy change my ip though? or will they ask a list of questions?.. I think ill only have one shot at this so i really want to make sure its a clean excuse that i can pull off lol..

Ya. Just say you were on a forum and decided to give your own opinion on something another user posted about. After you did that, the person PMed you saying they have your IP address and other information (and PMed you your IP and, just say, your name and address) and are threatening to hack into your computer and steal all your personal information.

You can also try telling them that for some reason your IP address doesn't allow you to play any online video games. Tell them that you contacted all the publishers of all those games and they told you that you're having trouble connecting to servers because you don't have a valid IP address, or something along those lines.

Last, just tell them if they don't change your IP for you you'll come over there with your attack chopper and show them what's good. :p

If they are difficult you could ask if they prefer an ISP change to an IP change?

Yet another brilliant idea. I'm pretty sure they would change it fairly quickly if you said that, lol.

I see what you did thar!

Say that you are working for the secret service and are currently being tracked by angry Russians using your IP address to locate you.

Ok, so what i will say is this..

Recently after joining a public forum a disgruntled member was able to obtain my IP address and has threatened to hack my pc.. I have cancelled my mebership with the forum and would just like my IP to be changed to be on the safe side.

                      Does that sound fine?

Just say that your internet was slow, so you contacted your ISP and they had to do some updates and they advised you to restart your internet. (That "should" change your ip)

"restarting your internet" will only work if
                              A) You have a dynamic IP address
                              B) You keep "the internet" offline until the lease time on the IP has expired.
