personally i think the 8800gt is going to be a lost cause now the new gts is out and is of course faster, perhaps we will have the limited time like with the 2900pro.
most ppl would get the new gts is only a bit more expensive.
so i predict the 8800gt will be harder to get hold of down the road.
where as the 3870xt is cheap, and should last longer on the market.
comparing the price ive seen 3870xt on ebay for 114 uk(new) i could buy 2 of these close to the price of a good 8800gt(overclokers.co.uk retails about 200 for the oc version)
as for psu a good 550watt should be ok the 3870 draws about 150w
so 2 cards should not be a problem, also ati have made it possible in the latest drivers to overclock both cards.
and when upgrade time come around you can still use you're old card as a physics chip,
"more than meets the eye with ATI" (i could trade mark that quote perhaps:))
would be interesting..come on Scinto spill the beansComment

hoping you get you order soon,i just hate waiting.
when you do,any chance of some game shots with 24x AA :)
we ati users dig the image quality :)
also it appears the new vista sp1 now supports dx10.1 seems promising :)Comment

true but we both know nvidia did it to make there cards look better on paper.
but ati did not,so the image quality shows and the info about nvidia gets out in the end.
personally crysis is for really nice visuals so why dumb them down, the user should have to lower there settings if they don't like the performance.
still it was a clever thing to do by nvidia, the average person would not know they did that.Comment
