in NewsHands On with Sea of Thieves (PC)
During the most recent beta for Rare's upcoming high seas pirating adventure, Sea of Thieves, I was fortunate enough to be given a key and test the waters for myself. My first go at the game included two of my friends and a random person teaming up for a four man crew aboard a large and worthy vessel. We collected our supplies from the port at which we spawned. Supplies that included bananas to help us replenish our health if needed, cannonballs to engage in piracy on the open waters...

in NewsWeek in Review: INSIDE, Necropolis, and Battlefield 1 Alpha (July 10-16, 2016)
This week in review will be a quick and dirty one, just like you like it. I'll be taking a quick trip through INSIDE, Necropolis, and offering my thoughts on the Battlefield 1 alpha as it comes to a close.
INSIDE
INSIDE is the latest game from Limbo developers, Playdead. Playdead played to their strengths in Inside, offering compelling gameplay, puzzles, a visually outstanding experience, and truly impressive audio. True to their Limbo roots, the story in Inside is... -

in NewsHands On with Welkin Road
I was given the opportunity to check out the high flying, parkour antics in Welkin Road. Welkin Road is an upcoming Indie game from Gregor Panic that sends you sailing over platforms high in the sky as you try to make your way from point A to point B. Along the way you will have to traverse long distances by way of running, jumping, wall-running, grappling, and swinging. The game features two modes, one of which is a normal progression mode through the various levels. The other is a ... -

in NewsWeek in Review: Catching Up with Fallout 4 DLC, The Division, and Forced Showdown (All of April 2016)
It's certainly been quite some time since we last had one of these Weeks in Review, yeah? Sorry about that, but you know at least one of the reasons already. With that out of the way, it should be noted that there have been a number of games that I played in the past few weeks.
Some of these reviews will be a bit shorter than previous entries just so I don't exhaust myself with all of the reviews I think I have to write. Keep in mind that I'm not actually sure how many games are going to end up below, so anything I just said might end up being a load of crap.... -

in NewsAssault Android Cactus Review
A fun, colorful, and fresh take on twin-stick shooters and bullet hell bosses.
It needs to be said upfront that I'm not normally a big fan of the "bullet hell" style of games. Even back during the height of Geometry Wars' popularity, I only managed to earn just four achievements before I hit a brick wall and ultimately never touched the game again for the better part of a decade. It's not that I hate that particular genre of games, it's more so that they hate me and my poor reaction times.... -

in NewsLooking Ahead: 2016's Most Anticipated Video Games
2015 is dead and over with. Hell, we're already a month deep into 2016 at this point. Even still, we have about 11 months of game releases to look forward to. What better time than right now to put up a quick entry about what games I'm looking forward to in 2016? These all aren't games that I'm like dying to play. These are a mix of games that I'm super excited to play and also some that I'm merely interested in seeing how they turn out for one reason or another. Just for the hell of... -

in NewsOp-Ed: Best of Gaming in 2015
A funny thing happened the other day. I had a nicely compiled list of "best of" items for 2015 in an Excel sheet. Problem is, I made that Excel sheet back in November and only planned to adjust it a bit just prior to writing up my article, the thing you're reading right now. Well, it disappeared. I don't know where it went. So, this is what I'm going to do. I'm going to half-ass the hell out of this. I'm going to simply make a list of games I enjoyed throughout the year based on their release mon... -
