I'm not bitching, just adding my personal thought to the discussion, but I personally have had my fill of the Battlefield series. The problems created with each patch have taken some of the enjoyment out of the game. I came in at 1.12 and the game was perfect. I have'nt been here before that because my computer at the time couldn't handle the game the way I wanted it to. Since then, I've always had this nagging voice saying "well, as soon as the next patch comes out, this and this will be fixed and all will be well". But then something else will go wrong. It's just simply taken a lot of the fun out of it. Well not a lot. But enough.

If the community enjoys the game and says the gameplay is solid, then I'll buy it. But considering how things have gone in the past couple of months, it's hard to beleive that they've been able to create a whole new game that lacks the problems they're still trying to fix in the current game. But maybe it is easier to start from scratch. However, in the end, Quake Wars just looks better. Only time will tell, and if the game gets at least decent reviews, I'll pick it up once it's been out for a while and is down to $30. So... years down the road?

Here's hoping that it rocks though. I'm not boycotting EA, I'm just exhausted by them currently.

Still looks interesting, even though they tried to kill one of my favorite 'mechs (aside from MadCat of course...). I believe I'll give it a go if money permits.

1.) fix this game first. then release a new one. im not getting it till BF2 gets patched properly.

2.) I propose a challenge, if you will. To any mod team willing to accept: Take those screens and movie and make us a BF2142 mod. I guarantee you can do a better job than they can. All you need are the models, cuz God knows they arent going to change the gameplay. Make the mod, and then we'll see who pays 50 bucks for a mod they try to sell us.

most of the animations in the video(soldiers) look the same as bf2. reloading, firin while running, idle movement(@ the end of the movie) also, some stuff from regular bf2 is still there. (c4 detonador in one of the pics..) they just made some modifications to the game.. heck.. i'll still buy it tough.. love bf2 franchise... dont see any complete mods out there yet.. so.. meh.. if it sucks oh well i got screwed, but at least ill get to try it... if it rocks... Awesome..

Lotsa' time between now and Fall 2006 (Fall runs right thru' til' the end of December btw), I'm sure we'll see a few more patches until then and another group is working on this "2142" seperately from the group thats working on BF2 stuff, I mean c'mon are many of you that blind?

They are keeping up with a franchise and they'll continue to do this for a long time, You don't see patches for 1942 anymore do you? or BF:V for that matter? And I am sure they need it for some odd reason or another but it's time to move on. :laugh:. Keep up with the Jones'. It's simple math really.If you don't like it you don't have to buy it and you can continue playing what you've been playing for the last
several months... yeah there's somethings wrong with the game but I play it everyday and enjoy every minute I play it.

I'm sure once 2142 comes out there will undoubtedly be the same short-sightedness that's happening right now and the cycle will continue. :laugh:

I dont think im going to buy it. Its just some new models, thats all it is. Maybe some new invsible soldiers. WOW. They havent changed the gameplay, and they never will. It is just new models, they didnt even improve (at least it looks like) the engine, the same old engine. Until they start fixing BF2, that will never be on my computer.

LOL, the mod community can definitely reproduce BF2142. The game looks half-assed and is definitely not worth my money. But anyways, it would be great if the mod community came out with a mod that's identical to Battlefield 2142 before launch...:laugh:

well for sure when it releases i might be saying byebye to bf2 and say hello to bf2142 cause i love mechs too much lol

however, in those screenshots or the trailer thats been floating around the net lately made me realize that it seemed they ARE indeed wanna lurk more $$ outta us consumers cause the graphics didn't seemed too different from bf2 so it made me feel like its more like a mod with new units and wpn layout but in a bf2 engine.
