The name that you use to connect to the account server, is the name that you use for gamespy account in the ea downloader.

Ok...I finally got it downloaded. At first it gave me the "address is jumbled" crap, but I just backspaced and retried and it worked. Downloaded in about 30 minutes. Played Taraba and 1st impressions.....I go so freakin owned. I only played about 5 min and got killed about 10 times. The only kills I got was with the mobile AA. The European Union voices sound like freaken robots.....ghey ones at that. Snipers everywhere. owned owned owned.... like I said before. Oh, if you didnt already know, on the menu page where BF2 vanilla is red and BF2SF is green, BF2EuroForces is also red. The maps just mesh in with vanilla. It went from the Taraba Quarry map to Karkand next, so I guess if you dont have the booster pack it will kick you when that map comes around. LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE WITH BF2SF!!!!!

Re: Battlefield 2: Euro Force Released

My gamespy account name (logging into the gamespy arcade) now reflects my new username but it still only works with my old one. =/

So it's either... buy it again? Or quit my clan? But the funny part is I couldn't even use my ingame name because it was taken... by my AOL account. So I bought this with Jofabalive(@aol.com) and it reflects my Jofaba account. There is no "My Account" at gamespy.com, only a profile edit in the arcade program. There is no "My Account" in either BF2 the game or the official website. Wow. And I'm a fairly intelligent person. I had no (real) difficulty getting the game on my computer and working, but it doesn't work with my new account. I know this is a repeated problem people are having but, well, yeah. It sucks. There really should only be one thing you have to do and only one company to work with:

        What's your BF2 CD key? _______________________
(checks that against your computer just like BF2 does when you log in)
CD key check complete. Here's your download, it now has the same cd key as your BF2 game.

        Why is that difficult?

Hmm… I was considering purchasing this booster pack, but it really seems to have lots of issues. Nah… I guess I won’t buy it after all…

Re: Battlefield 2: Euro Force Released

I don't have whatever map set you're talking about. The issue we're all experiencing is an incompatability of usernames between download and startup. Like I said, it works fine on my "old" signin but not on my new one. I must have technically done everything fine to make it work, but it's annoying that it's on a currently useless BF2 account.
                  -----------
Edit: I'm not that upset about it really. It was $10. I'm just disappointed that 1) If my clan decides to use these maps I won't be able to join them, and 2) that after my continued suport of EA, both financially butmoreso in these forusm (been called an EA fanboy more times than I can count), but things like this keep happening. I still love the game and think EA/Dice is great. It's just disappointing is all. Sort of like how a parent can still love their kid even if they did something bad, but they're disappointed. I remember thinking that was worse in a way. How does EA feel about this I wonder?

Are some of you that helpless? Macex did you actually buy the game...or just download it? secondly....you use your ingame account if that hasnt already been established by now! When it asks you for your gamespy account give em your bf2 account you play on...is it really that hard?

I wish it was that simple - as my in-game name is already in use! I downloaded the game under a different (newley created name) today - when I tried to register with my in-game name it said that it was in use... go figure if it's hard or not... ugh...

Hey i had the same issue. all i did was after ordering the booster pack, i then turned off the downloader in the r/h corner of the screen. Then start downloader fresh and it will connect to the server and you should see what you just purchased. Worked for me. Good luck. :)

You've hit the nail on the head. It isnt difficult.

1942 used this system, infact 99% of licensed software centralises on the 'CD Key' for account authentication...

Jofaba, I once used to be a Massive Battlefield/EA/Dice fanboy... I used to hum the battlefield theme tune and get excited when the EA flash screen said "EA Games, Challenge Everything!" It still makes my spine tingle firing up 1942...

I EVEN HAD 1942 CLAN T-SHIRTS MADE UP.

I soooo wish I felt the same about BF2, it's the only reason I flame, I just miss my old friend.

Your best bet is to hit the Back button on your browser and try to navigate from there. If that doesn't work, you should close your browser window, sign back on to the site, and try again.

PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED (FOR ME & MAYBE YOU)

I'm not sure what the problem was, but I was relentless and finally fixed it. It's simple, and of course follows all the advice given so far, by Shawn and others, but the problem was that it took about 15 times for it to finally work.

As stated, you open the downloader after the game is on your computer and installed sucessfully (sorry, this explaination is for the problem I was having only, not installation problems) and click on "Edit Gamespy Nickname". This opens up a small IE window where you are supposed to put in your username and password. For me, choosing both Forgot Username and Forgot Password only sucessfully resulted in one reminder email out of severl attempts. I put in the information it said was correct, and was told that my password was invalid. I tried several times over the past hour, and it finally let me in. As soon as you're in, it's a simple fix. You're already on the screen and just put your name as it appears when you log into the actual BF2 game. It's automatically updated.

However! There is apparently a 3 times per week Gamespy nickname change limit in effect, so make sure you enter your name correctly.

Thanks to Shawn for the information and my own stubbornness for not giving up. Hopefuly the login error is fixed so others like me can get in with the corect info on the first try. It wouldn't seem so crazy then!

                                Good luck.
