Gabe Newell took a few moments to answer some fan questions during tonight's episode of GameTrailers TV.
The status of Half-Life 2: Episode 3 was the first question asked. Revealing absolutely nothing, Newell states that there is "nothing to say on Episode 3 right now." When pressed on the matter, he did say that something was in the works, with a very remote possibility that Episode 3 may turn into a full-fledged sequel to Half-Life 2. This is mere speculation based on what was said during the interview.
As expected, the only thing confirmed about Counter-Strike 2 is that there is no Counter-Strike 2. However, Newell says that an e-mail to him with an "ordered list" of what sequels you want most may sway them. He personally would like to see a Portal 2 before a Counter-Strike 2. This also seems to indicate that a Portal 2 is also not in development yet.
Valve is also very interested in Project Natal for the Xbox 360 (and other motion based control schemes) and the possibilities created with that new technology. He also apologized to PlayStation 3 owners who have gotten the short end of the stick when it has come to the Orange Box support.
We will have the GameTrailers TV episode up once it's available from GameTrailers.com.
