i dont like to replace parts every month or year. i use a computer for like 3-4 years before replacing parts or it completely...

Where the hell do you get this overclocking bullshit? AMDs can run Hl2 and Doom 3 just fine without up and dying on you. So can P4s. However, the AMDs will run it faster and probably cheaper.

Can anyone explain what part Sierra has to play in the project of hl2? If VU is publishing the game, what does Sierra do then? I just saw the screenshots and noticed their logo, so I was wondering.

Sierra is owned by Vivendi Universal and at this point is nothing more than a brand-name around the Vivendi label. Meaning "Sierra" is Vivendi.
