Bandwidth, WOW thats a new concept of not lagging everyone down when massive loads of happening. Finally my T1 internet is going to do something and run at its correct speed, not a lame 300K\sec on Steam Updates and other junk. But good job :-D I'll be looking forward to that. And haha expensive phone call... Hrmmm, lets see maybe around a good 100+ collars I'm guessing rofl!
    T1 at 300 Kilobytes a second? A T1 is only 1.54 Mbit...

Yup, thought the same too. That translates into around 200kb/sec.

No no i mean't I get internet rates downloading stuff from steam with my T1 @ 300KB.....

Also T1 is just 1 line of internet, for my work computers, and its a full T1 not fraction, so try something like 3MB\sec up\down. Also server line friend runs servers on is about 60GB\sec. Now try downloading some from steam like that. Psfff, that would be damn fast :-D But yeah maybe I'll get like 2MB downloads from Steam now haha. Web Site downloads is around 2-2.5MB\sec if they are good.

Uhhh, no... I have a T1 line dude... I got tired of DSL and upgrade my line for 100 bucks more from speakeasy.net to a full T1 line... Only have to pay 220\month, that includes 3 Public IPs and full control of what I do with my internet line... Thanks for being dumb :-D

A full T1 is 1.54 Mbit up, 1.54 Mbit down, synchronously, and figures out to about (a hair under) 200 Kilobytes a second each way.

A 60 Gigabit per second line is underheard of. 60 Gigabytes per second is even more laughable (60 * 8). OC-192s are only 10 Gigabits per second.

:/ I don't know.... The big test will be with HL2. Small test with CSS BETA. So we will see and hope that it will work. The last update was very slow. I just hope that it works

Then, anyone with P2P enabled is given priority access to the content servers (maybe a few content servers for people with P2P exclusivly) and the ability to download from anyone else.

That way, you don't have to use P2P, but it works a whole bunch better if you do, as an incentive to use it.
Actually, this is the same model that Gamespot's DLX service uses. If you allow uploading, the download becomes "accelerated". If you don't allow uploading, it isn't as fast...pretty simple.

Yes, well, Gamespot's DLX service is a rotten pile of shit, as is just about everything on their site. At least they let you stream movies for "free."

Its not a big deal. But the people who would never get cought are the ones who dont let themselves be known. Bragging about it just draws attention to yourself, something which all those lovely industries love to see.

the sooner symmetric internet connections become the norm, the better, for everyone, downloading AND uploading.
