Yes, I know that... If you get what I mean, it can be multiply lines hooked togerther to get 60GB\sec... Your you imagination, but w/e Yeah for Steam bandwidth, stop quoting me...
Huge datacenters don't even have 60 Gigabits of bandwidth. You're either horribly mistaken or horribly stupid about bandwidth. The cost of such a "connection" would be the hundreds of thousands each month, probably more.

Even your claim for a T1 at $220/mo seems pretty damn low. $400 is a pretty good estimate for just the T1, without the local loop. Exactly what provider are you getting all this imaginary bandwidth from?

I care so much because I hate to see people that are either horribly mistaken or blatantly lying. You're trying to dodge the conversation now.

Seems like someone's a bit miffed on being called out. Let's result to mindless name calling. In the post above, you said to e-mail you, and in this you say you'll "tracert" me if you find any e-mails about your Internet. Oh no, a tracert!

11 and a half days? No wonder they preload.

As far as P2P goes, I think it's really the legal system. Everyone who signed on with CS 5 years ago had their own EULA, and then again with Steam (right? I can't remember); I haven't read it, but I'm betting nowhere in the EULA does it say they can use your upload against your permission except for the uses it's already used.

That said, I think P2P is a wave of the future; like Splenda is to sugar and artificial sweeteners; like DVD-rom is to CD-rom. Eventually the internet should be completely based on a P2P system.

Why would someone lie about their internet connection? And more to the point, why would anyone care?

Simple: T1 does not go beyond 1.5Mbit. A T3 might, on the other hand, but that would be much more expensive.

superm0nk is indeed correct. I have a t1, price is around 499 including the local loop, 32 ip addies, but to the point. its 1.54 up and down. No where near 2 and extremely far away from 3.

Im not sure why you'd like about hard proven facts Linux about having a t1 line.

As for a t3 which was mentioned, a full t3 for those wondering, tupically costs 4500 or so.. and offers 45 up and down.

I have DSL, living practically across the street (I think it's something like 400-800 feet); and I get like 1.4 or 1.5 megabit, I think.

It turns out to be roughly 160-170 kiloBYTES per second, but only when I connect to some ultrafast site like windowsupdate.com. Usually it's in the neighborhood of 100-130 kB.
