QuickDraw wrote..I agree with most of what you said here. The people who were saying Doom 3 isn't realistic were, at least at first, talking about the graphics only. By that they/we meant that the textures look a little more simplistic and "plasticy" than HL2's. That is not by definition a bad thing; it merely just doesn't float our boat.
All you ppl saying hl2 is realisitic must be kidding.
Cant compare the two? Ic, that makes sense. Since theyre both sci-fi fps shooters using new technology coming out at the same time with identical story-lines and both using advanced weaponary that dont exist in a battle for survival in an unknown and marred cy-world.
For all the people that think im attacking hl2, you must be dumb, cuz at no point have i said hl2 sucks. you fucking fanboys dont have to defend hl2 with ur lives and say doom3 sucks is 'unrealistic' blahblahblah. I'm sayin doom3 is gonna be a more fun game with better graphics and better gameplay. The two games are almost identical story-line-wise and weapons are too. But that doesnt mean hl2 will be great too. Just saying hl2 is more explorative and doom3 is more a traditional shoot em up. While in doom3 u feel like you are constantly in action, fighting for your life, and facing new challenges and unsolving a mystery, hl2 has the character explore the destroyed world as a secretive rebel.
All I've said from the beginning is that I'm not overly excited by Doom 3 personally. I'll be reading reviews, seeing what people think, and maybe some day I'll pick it up and enjoy it. For now, though, I'm just not feelin' the Doom 3 love.
