CS: Source BETA Test Date

I'm a fan of steam, and a faithful onlooker as to how CS:S will turn out. Really looking forward to it personally. Don't have the rig to play HL2 or the above mentioned, but it's always satisfying to see a game top itself. Point being, I hope this is the case with HL2 and CS:S, as well as any previously unmentioned mod. The only beef I have with steam is it jacked up my ping. One day I got on and my ping at regularly played servers (15-25) had become 90-100 all around. I now cannot get a ping below that. Oh well *sigh*

I agree mostly but i think that VALVe should implement a system that staggers the release so that people dont try to get the preloading done the day it comes out. (Maybe this is the case already)

Plus how does it know u own CZ? i can get the cd but no cd key, will that still work? How does it work"?

you would need the cdkey so you could add CZ under "my games" in steam, you will for sure get the beta after that..



Im getting Doom3 as soon as its released...

The guy who coded bittorrent is working with steam, his first real trial will be when Won switches over, then this, then half life 2.



Lets hope he's done a good job.

Cant compare the two? Ic, that makes sense. Since theyre both sci-fi fps shooters using new technology coming out at the same time with identical story-lines and both using advanced weaponary that dont exist in a battle for survival in an unknown and marred cy-world.



For all the people that think im attacking hl2, you must be dumb, cuz at no point have i said hl2 sucks. you fucking fanboys dont have to defend hl2 with ur lives and say doom3 sucks is 'unrealistic' blahblahblah. I'm sayin doom3 is gonna be a more fun game with better graphics and better gameplay. The two games are almost identical story-line-wise and weapons are too. But that doesnt mean hl2 will be great too. Just saying hl2 is more explorative and doom3 is more a traditional shoot em up. While in doom3 u feel like you are constantly in action, fighting for your life, and facing new challenges and unsolving a mystery, hl2 has the character explore the destroyed world as a secretive rebel.
