CobbeH wrote..No offense, but your conceded... I've been around for four years, playing since 8th grade now a senior in High school, but even I don't say "well, I'm more important, so duh dee do hey lala." I know there are new newbies who naturally can play CS amazingly, probably better than you. But hey, you're more important, right ass?
Being around longer, and being apart of a 'skilled' community I can honestly say my view is more important for the future of CS. If you want realism go and play Rainbow 6, CS was all about fun, and even Gooseman said that he'd make CS to what the community wants. What went wrong when VALVe took over is beyond me, but what they can do is make CS: Source more enjoyable again, and by adding cockend shields and the likes it really is just going to ruin it.
Anyways, I believe the shield can be an effective (currently too effective), balanced weapon if some issues were taken care of. You know, I joke around when playing with people in pubs saying stuff like, "Yeah, I think they should balance the shield by making a wooden shield for the T's that breaks after a while and gives you a hard time!" No, we really don't want that, haha. What we want if fairness. Balance.
So how can you possibly balance the shield? There are a number of ways I have thought of: Be less resistant to damage than normal, make it so you can only use the glock or five-seven, make it destructable with nades, or make it generally harded to work with: you can't move it so fast, you can't walk as fast, you can't jump so high, and you receive more damage if you fall.
Thanks-
Mike
