Yeah I think that was the original plan, but I'm unsure of exactly what's going to happen with that.
I own CZ, and I'd honestly be just as happy if I could join 1.6 servers and play with the enhanced models/textures. The 1.6ers would use the defaults.
If they do go ahead with this, it would mean that anything gameplay-related would carry over to 1.6. This would be things like the crosshairs (which we already know is happening), the player location system, the grenade dropping, and anything else that is directly related to gameplay.
I assume this would NOT include models, skins, sounds, or CZ maps.
If they're still planning on doing this, I'd imagine their biggest problem would be illegal use of CZ materials in 1.6...something they've already been struggling to deal with.
Who knows if it's still on the menu?

Why dose everyone think Valve has been updateing CS for years hell valve only got there hands into CS come 1.3 (Tell me if im wrong if I am sorry) and sence then CS has mainly went down hill some good updates but with the good came a crap load of bad updates and bugs I wish thay would of left the damn thing alone back in 1.3 then I would not here people gripe and complain about the lag on aztec =\
*EDIT*
And a nother main reasion that CZ came out is becuse Vavle could not line there pockets with cash with somethin THAT WAS FREE to begin with so out came CZ exact same game with a few modifcations so valve can continue to suck as much money out of this game as possible
XTRMNTR wrote..Oh yes, Amazon.com, the 'old brick and mortar stones' of the web...*snicker*
I was just pissy I bought CZ at Best Buy a few weeks after it came out for $35. I could've spent that $15 on something else...
And to think Amazon is selling it cheaper than what Valve is letting it go for on Steam... I still say Steam will never replace the old brick and mortar stores.

You'll have to do your own tech support on that one.
Anyway, I went ahead and shelled out the $20 for CZ, and a few extra bucks for a book that's, well, perhaps somewhat related, heh. Hopefully it'll be worth it. :)
Boomstick wrote..true.. but bandwidth + greed = an overpriced POS
I think it's sad that it's cheaper to buy it from Amazon considering Steam was supposed to cut out the middle man.
