      Valve rewrite the Oxford English Dictionary yet again;

"Gone Gold"; Adjective; "A supposedly finished piece of software, finalised and ready to go to press after almost 3 years, yet disappears from the face of the earth with no warning or even apologies to people who pre-ordered it months before"

If only I'd bothered to read the dictionary before I ordered my copy :/

        To hell with it.

        A year ago, I would've bought it.

6 months ago, I might've bought it, provided it reviewed well.

        Now? This is fuck all...

I don't think the community has the right to be, outraged, per se, and posting negative comments about the company and it's release date policies... I won't do that. I'm going to vote with my wallet, which for Condition Zero - Will remain indefinetly closed.

          VALVe: Not so much.

Give them a break, CZ has been through enough problems that nobody should be particularly shocked that there's been another snag. I'm sure the game will be better off because of it. In the meantime, count the money you're saving by waiting.

If they give an explanation why the game isn't out, I think we'd all appreciate that.

Here's hoping they DID put all the Ritual models back into the game.

Yea, what is it with VALVe and this, this is probably the last straw for many people, if it doesnt come out the next time they say it will, I wouldnt be suprised if a handful of people went to VALVe's offices and protested.

I miss the gas grenades, gas mask, flares, and molotov cocktails...:)
o shut up.. its always the last straw and it never is.

i have mixed feelings...mostly BAD ones, but im gunna try real hard...

ok..maybe valve HAS (finally) listened and are gunna give us what we want (the models and shtuff)

funny thing is, i was joking around with my bro the other day, saying "har har har...wut if VALVE pushed it back again..harharhar...wouldnt that suck..harhar.." we decided that that definately wouldnt happen, because, like mentioned before "it allready went gold, didnt it?"

                AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAHHHHHAARHARHARHARHAAAA
                AR!!!

That would have been a very fair point about 2 months ago. However, when a piece of software is deemed to have gone gold, it has effectively left the nest and should almost be considered to be out of the developers hands. The point of it having gone gold means that the developers have scrupulously scanned all code, played through every contingency, and are prepared to release the version to the printers. So there should be no excuse further than armageddon that should hold up the release even further. Unless there's a spectacular f*ck up ("B17 Flying Fortress" with porn website links in a txt file anyone) then there should be no reason for this mess up. And if there was such a mess up, I would have imagined that we would have at least had some kind of press release to clear it all up before disappointing thousands of loyal fans for the umpteenth time this year.

man.. was looking forward to cscz for months... it was all ive been talking about... and now.. its delayed again.. its just freaken bullshit

they should have worked on cscz instead of that freaekn csx... i mean.. theres a lot more cs computer fans than those cs xbox fans...

man.. if it was ganna be delayed.. they should have at least said something before i went to gamestop then best buy and asked for the game while they just said i dont have it and made a fool of myself... even thought i saw a lot of other people there too... it was hularies... there was like 10 people asking the same quiestion... anyways it better not be delayed until next year... and when its released.. it better be better

I knew someone would say that: Nintendo is big, but my point was that they're two companies that say they're all about the fans, but one releases free games, and the other makes you pay for games that should be free.

As for giving valve a break, I think we're well past that, they should be giving us a break now.

I guess I'm the only one that remembers we're still getting FREE updates for a game that came out FIVE YEARS AGO. I guess yeah we all paid for Half-Life at some point, but since then we've gotten nothing but free support. Counter-Strike is and always has been free, and will continue to be free even after Condition Zero (theoretically) comes out. Honestly, I can't even imagine where VALVe got the money to support Half-Life at no charge for all these years.

Also, I stopped being excited about Condition Zero in June. Anyone can see that something that's been passed around among developers so many times has some serious problems. I'm hoping that VALVe got things mostly fixed up when they took over production, but the fact is my expectations are low. And you're right; if the game has gone gold then something must have been very wrong for them to delay. All the better to fix it now.

Valve, you just keep screwing yourself over. No one had to steal your code for you to be late, you were never on time in the first place.
