unlike you i made no intention of using proper english, as expressed by the sentence you refer to. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=sardonic
And I wish people like you would read about why this started in the first place. But since you won't, I'll paste it.

Khaos quoted kSaini and said "and your posts just say "inteligent" all over them". So I merely state that he spelt "intelligent" wrong, hoping he wouldn't flame someone when obviously he is in the same boat.

Now, tell me how in the heck did I become the punching bag in this when all I did was trying to point out that his flame should he wasn't the brightest and does not need to be making comments about anothers intelligence.

why is it every time someone starts losing an e-argument, they start to criticise the other persons grammar/spelling?

      a bit pitiful really.

Lopinboy, you became the punching bag when you a) claimed it was VALVe's own fault they got hacked, b) acted like you had a clue about network security when from your comments you obviously have little to no real-world experience in the field, c) tried to claim that believing otherwise was being a "VALVe fanboy" or something like that, and finally d) started criticizing the spelling errors of others. As if typing a quick sentence and missing a double "L" somehow invalidates what you've said.

Don't be a spelling/grammar troll. As long as the point is getting across clearly, I think we can all overlook minor punctuation errors or whatever the hell people do. It's the underlying ideas behind what's being said that really matters, not whether they have perfect English.

Ok, so first off, tell me how it wasn't their fault? They are a company, who most likely has network admins sitting their, getting paid to protect the servers from such an attack. If they MONITORED their network status correctly, then it wouldn't of happened.

Next, rape and hacking are 2 different things. You can not even start putting them into the same sentence, thus, you sir are the true idiot. Way to be a VALVe Fanboy.
The point is it is the criminal's fault the crime occured. If you're too dense to see that, maybe YOU should be raped/hacked/shot in the face/thrown off a building.

Oh, and yeah, it'd be YOUR fault, wouldn't it? For being annoying and such for not liking VALVe in a CS website's thread? Yeah, entirely your fault. And if what could possibly be a team of skilled hackers hack your computer, it's YOUR fault for having a computer connected to the internet. Yeah, your fault.

          Geeze man, grow up.

On the other hand, using perfect English gives an inescapable aura of intelligence anyway. The same sentence:

          "boy u sux0rs i cn typ better than u if i wanted 2!"

"Boy, you suck. I could type better than you if I wanted to."

It's indeniable. Correct English presents a better statement, one that is more easily read, and can be dealt with as appropriate.

Seriously, people who can't type correct English are either A: too ignorant to know how, or B: too lazy to. I have respect for neither.

That said, I don't go trolling around pointing out grammar and spelling errors, either. That's just a waste of time, especially when the person you're correcting doesn't care, and anybody else who reads it either doesn't care or already knows.

That's just my two cents, take it or leave it.

Please, only report a comment if it OBVIOUSLY breaks one of the rules. I mean if someone blatantly goes out of their way to break the rules, then you can report.

Also, follow the rules. Doing both things not only makes this a better community, but you can also stick it to "the man" aka me and other moderators, by depriving us the chance to edit/delete/ban.

            Thanks :)

PS: You can find the rules here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

teh rules are ambiguous at best.

technically you could ban anyone you feel like. :/

» mention being the "first post." Or the "second post." it's an automatic ban.

» demand credit for a news item that you submitted. you probably weren't the only one, ace.

» post porn links without a clear warning.

» post anything hinting at or encouraging warez. use common sense here.

» post off-topic. no one cares about your broken ankle when we're talking about the cs for the xbox.

» mindlessly flame someone for no reason.

» troll esports, xbox, or other cs-related items. you're not here to define which type of community is the best.

» advertise an irrelevant service or site. go here.

leech bandwidth by using third-party images.
Real ambiguous there... Just for the record, out of 188548 users, only nine are banned. Two of which expire later on today, and four more due to expire by the end of the month. Ambiguity only enters in for trolling and other minor things.

The saddening decent to bs osts is really worrying, this source being out there, means that the cheating scumbags etc have got a potential to get well ahead, am I right? and so the joy of cheat free gaming will be destroyed. Im sure that the theft of this intellectual property carries with it some hefty punishment and I for one wish valve all the luck in tracking them, and having the law ocme down on them like a ton of bricks. (Though while in prison the Effa bee aye cut em a deal and get em to do stuff for them)

I'm absolutely amazed at the number of people who seem to envision Valves business network as been a peer to peer network with a 56k modem slapped into the Serial port of one of the machines.

Jesus christ, to get to the code the hackers may have back tracked through god knows how many machines, switches and routers - that takes a whole load of skill and at the end of the day true hackers are experts and extremely clever. It's just sad they use their skills to the black side.

A network admin can easily counter script kiddies, and VB hackers but peoeple who know what they're doing can be seriously hard to combat. At the end of the day, the second a computer gets connected to the internet, no matter how far along the line, it's at risk - however, in todays day and age it would be seriously under productive to have seperate networks, or even worse, no internet connection.

In conclusion, it's a risk that most businesses have to take and most people get away with it, sadly some dont.

VALVe has a tendency to underestimate the size of the community, and apparently overestimate the quality of its members. Just look up.
