1.6 has awesome graphics (at least in comparison) and I was a lucky one whose download time was 5 minutes....but anyway, WHERE ARE MY BOTS? At least with bots you don't have to be lagging at all and if you don't want to play with cheap ass awpers or shield whores then you don't have to. The bots definately defines 1.6 Beta over the final release. The new rifles are good overall, they are priced well to give the CTs a chance in the second round and the galil is well....ok. But even though I am a Die Hard CT, I hate how my teammates (and Terrorists who take the shield from dead people) hide their asses behind the cheap-as-hell shield. It is almost as cheap and unfair as the AWP.

now if only the default models, which you cant change, werent so ugly they cause blindness. Valve should at least have a high poly weapons pack that you can use. The ugly weapons are the only reason I dont play 1.6

what's with the graphics lag? I'm assuming that it's because of the new way the client's drawn, but still everyone's been having problems with smoke grenade lag, even a 2.4GHz P4 on a Radeon 9700 Pro.

Ok, when u see REAL LIFE CTs, guess what? THEY USE SHIELDS! Stop complaining that they suck just because now people can own with pistols. This has added more realism to the game, which is great.

If the SWAT team counts as CT's, then maybe people have actually seen them on rare occasion, but most of us wouldn't have, obviously.

You can change the models. Unfortunately we don't yet know for sure what the situation will be with riot shield models (ie, all pistols, knife, and grenades while holding the RS), so your best bet is to simply focus on replacing the rifle/SMG models for now. Also beware that chances are you'll be flipping back and forth between ugly-as-hell pastey white arms and better tan ones until things settle out and more 1.6 specific models start coming out.



Anyway, just look for your cstrike directory, and create a models directory in it, just like before.

Uninstall Steam, re-download it, and reinstall it. Chances are nothing short of that will fix your problem.

haha cs 1.6, which i except because i haven't tried cuz im waitng for my new comp to dl, is probably gonna be interesting. Ill just play with new guns and shields for like a week and just just play GTA3 or somthing....can't wait for new COMP!!!
