Much as I hate resorting to the word "gay" the Tactical Shield is exactly that. It's the nearest thing to a sanctioned cheat I've ever seen. The T's need an RPG -- priced accordingly and with limited ammo -- capable of taking it out with one shot.
The weapon renaming is just pathetic -- a transparent, futile (and, yes, gay) attempt to distance the game from real world violence. But while we're on the subject of gayness, here's an excerpt from my own article over at TotalWarfare.com:

my cs runs just fine...and to think of it 1.6 is faster than 1.5 when it come to loading up and exiting...
Starting CS1.5:
Start CS>Play CS>Play Online>Refresh servers>double-click server
Starting CS1.6:
Start Steam>Refresh servers>Double-click server.
Exiting CS1.5:
press ESC(wait till server screen comes up)>Exit online games(wait till it disconnects)>exit Play CS>exit game.
Exiting CS1.6:
press ESC>click Exit then confirm.
it did take more time to start steam a couple of days bck but now since the servers have cooled down it take less time for steam to login.i think its the login which takes more time not steam itself.

y steam? cs 1.5, nothing broke y 'fix' it . just like all the pc ahrdware, dont touch it unless its screw up. cs was a click and go game, now we have to wait for good 20mins just to login, y ?!? it's not exactly they can make money out of this login crappy system, but then again,. they might start charging for cs.....they really have screwed up this time.

Sanity has been lost............... why did valve evetr want to use something like " STEAM "ing pile of shit to use cs 1.6 ? i have a descent system , 512 mb ram - intel celeron - broadband connection - geoforce 5200 and STEAM still takes way too long to start, connect to severs and the graphics for cs 1.6 is horrible but not as bad as the font. omg and it laggs like hell !!!!
hopefully valve would decide to retain the won system

OK the game sucks because of the Shields don't take them out just put a rocket in the game so those Shields cant be killed the rocket should take of 75% of ur heath and it should be only for Ts not CTs and the rocket should cost $5000 and it only should have 4 the max ammo each rocket ammo should cost 100 because so those Ts wont be able to use it all the time trust me it would be awesome if there was a rocket launcherComment

The shield adds a great new element to game play, you have to re-learn all the maps over again. And it isn't hard to kill someone with a shield as long as you don't have a fucking retarded aim.
