It isn't really frozen, let it sit that way for awhile, and it will eventually come up.

You know I still consider myself a Steam naysayer, but this whole fiasco reminds me oh so well of CS 1.4 (or was it 1.3) when they changed jumping so you couldn't bunnyhop. People bitched and whined to no end before and for the first few days during. Since then, there's been blessed silence. I think that the true test of whether or not Steam really is a failure is whether or not everyone is still whining in, say, a week or two.



Or even better, I'd like to see how many people decide buy HL2 over Steam. I'm not sure if everyone realizes this or not, but distributing products via Steam saves Valve TONS of money. So if they can make the Steam distribution of HL2 and other products a success, then I say score one for Steam.

If the idea was to simplify the gaming experence, well then they just totally FUCKED THE FUCK UP. Congratulations to every one who got it working, there are like 15 of you. I can't even comment on 1.6, you know why? BECAUSE I HAVEN'T EVEN GOT TO PLAY IT YET. I guess valve never heard the old saying "don't fix something that ain't broke" cuz cs was working fine for years, and now I can't play....REAL FUCKING IMPROVEMENT.

Selfish AND immature, what a combination! A lot of people, including myself, are in the same boat and whining is not going to make things better. Steam is, by far, an improvement on the previous system. It just came out and the servers are overloaded, and this phase will eventually pass. When this happens, everything will run smooth and you will be praising Steam. So, until then, quit crying about something that is out of your control.
