Whenever I choose CS out of My Games, it says it needs to download a 350 mb file for CS, I click install, and nothing happens, any ideas?

its a problem i think with steam either being laggy or buggy ... i sit there and double click for like ever and suddenly it will come up and sometimes it wont ... this is my main problem with steam cause its not server related ...its program related and should not occur...along with the crashing when you click on games or monitor or login
My Steam won't even start...
I thought application files were called executables for a reason...itsn't something supposed to happen?Comment

just played cs for about 30 mins. it's awesome. the shield is 1000x cheaper than the awp. but yeah. aztec looks like "tha sheit" on my radeon 9800. only problem i have is that i get disconnected when i get to play for 5-10 mins on a server. then i have to reconnect again to another server.Comment

CS 1.6 = very nice aside from the shield that can take an inifnite amount of damage. If the shield could only with-stand so many shots, it would be good.
Steam = as so many have said before, a huge pile of shit. I seriously think that Steam commissioned AOL to host them. And not AOL broadband, AOL 56k...
Wow, I was so bored I decided to post this, and now about 10 minutes after clicking on it my Steam window came up. I would be happy except for the fact that it doesn't mean shit considering I'll try to join a game and it will just sit there another 10+ minutes and then give me some asstastical error msg...Comment

Here's how you fix the "Install, but I don't want to download" thing.
Go find a server for what game you want. Click it and try to connect, it'll bring up the "Install" thing...hit install..wait a few minutes. After the box disappears, try to connect again.
It'll say "Preparing to Play Counter-strike..." wait for a little while, and *eventually* a download box will appear and it will begin the download. After it finishes, you click to play (Hopefully)
Although if you follow my advice, considering Steam's cramped up servers, I suggest you go find yourself something to do for 4 hours, because that's about how long it may take.Comment
