Hey, just wondering? Do you guys know how to use custom models in CS1.6? I know already. Im just curious if you do. I have all my models and sounds customized again and Im HAPPY! Although I would like a skin for the riot shield.



Over-all I think 1.6 is awesome... Steam decreases my lag.... (i used to have 100's - 250's now I have 50's - 100's) The riot shield really balances out the AWP, so its fair, and funny as hell. My fps is actually better... Sound is better.... I do know of a few bugs (such as spectators not being able to talk sometimes). But those can be fixed.

Hmm i wonder tho isn't this gonna stop the hundreds of custom mods that there are for HL. i mean i know most ppl don't play them but HL is popular because of the freedom that ppl have in making mods.

When i installed STEAM, it converted my HL folder, so if you have have an HL folder with 3rd party mods, steam will recognize thema dn allow you to play them. in my steamapps, i have a half-life folder with my other 3 MODs(dmz, dpb, TS), so when steam games window is on i ahve choiced fr the mods found in the half-life folder int eh steamapps folder.

dammit the spacing on my last post didnt work, i was tryin to show cstrike was in counter-strike and dpb,dmz, and ts were in my HL folder, which si in my spyder foplder...

Just curious, a friend of mine has a problem with steam when he presses "ctrl". When he presses it, it beeps and only when using Steam. Any suggestions?

I know how to use custom models, but how do you get the sounds?

Ok I put my custom models in the Counter-Strike folder but it didn't work.

I put the models in steamapps/<email>/counter-strike/cstrike/models (created the folder myself), but supposedly it works if you just put it in the cstrike folder as well

Well, this is by far the most annoying program ever written. Even the STEAM beta worked better.



Also, ummmmm, how come Steam never asked me for a game cd-key?

First totaly uninstall steam

then install the steaminstall_sc

ittl ask u for username password, make sure u dont select remember passwerd



then click games counterstrike, it didnt freeze.....just wait

Well, I've given up on steam. I just uninstalled it. I think i'll try the one with the cache files tomorrow.
