you need de_vegas.wad to play on fy_iceworld 1.6....WHACK...well 1.6 to me totally kicks ass, you people just need to have more patience with this steam, logging in will longest take 3 minutes or less

Download "Steam with Cache Files"

filename: steaminstall_cs.exe, size: 400MB

and you will no longer have problems with steam, just when you first install it and you launch a counter-strike, you gotta wait at least 10 minutes, thats how long i've waited and counter-strike popped up, so just be patient, let it load...because it's loading...

im gonna reinstall, click cs, an then go to sleep, if tomorrow the cs is not there, than the valvel will star to receive death treats.....

Anybody try the hlds steam install from scratch? It takes forever too!

ok, this may be a little off topic, but ive been searching around to install skins in 1.6 and cant seem to find out how to do it... please help!!!!!

umm the models and sounds they are all in the cache so its impossible to get em out. VALVe has promised tho, that they would be availible in the future

How much bandwith could you provide 50,000+ people downloading 100 - 500mb from a few of your servers?



Lets assume it's 50,000 people downloading 100 mb. (That's probably half of what it really is)



That works out at 5,000,000mb, 4900 Gigabits or 4.7 Terabytes of data!



Just wait a few days, I'm sure it will run better. Also, why is everyone so keen to get CS 1.6 BETA? Just wait a few weeks and you will get 1.6 final.



EDIT: I know it must be well over 50,000 people downloading because I signed up in the afternoon after it was launched, and I got a SteamID of 51,734

tatsudosi, i also realise this steam is one %(*&@ed up program! i think because of this i will stop playing cs..... a shame its not to bad i dont mind the new things but the knife looks like a plastic army stick.. seriously i thought people knew how to make games,! where do i sign to tell steam to go away!.

don't try dl'ing it from the place where i did though. i got hella exited that i got an average of 200 kbs that when i tried to dl from my new comp, it din't work. even after i finished my dl it didn't work. fastest dl server EVER. in fact, i dun think i ever dl'ed a large file at that kind of speed before. nice...
