I haven't even gotten to the "times left" box?! How do I get to that? the preparing to play has been here for 3 hours. And the monitor cuts off the updates every few seconds...

Tried for 2 hours, steam crashes and even disconnects me from the internet constantly.



At least I got a low steamid!!1

I got the steaminstall in between classes and left it downloading. 2 hours later I come back and it still has the same message: Updating Steam Platform



Question: If it doesn't display any minutes left does that mean its updating forever

I guess so, I couldnt uncheck Half-life when I was prompted on which games I'd like to install

When the counterstrike 1.6 is preparing why is the steam monitor showing that other mods downloading things???

You guys aparently dont realize that you are not the only people in the world getting steam. the shit is available all over the world and last time i checked millions of people all over the world played cs. GASP!!! you mean to tell me that million of people all over the world are all trying to download and update steam at the same time?? the dickens you say.





it took me like 4 hours to download (well that part only took 1.5 seconds) and update steam enough to play cs. i couldnt uncheck the box for halflife and im still downloading it...almost 12 hour later.
