No game in the history of online gaming has ever had a fanbase as moronic and unthankful as CS IMHO. After having bought HL 4 years ago I still get updates and new levels for it. I could have a new skin for every gun everyday, I could play a new map everyday if I wanted to. But what do I do instead? I whine about CS becoming boring, when all i do is play the "CPL" maps all day, and when backalley or airstrip comes on I immediately quit saying that those maps should have never made it into CS and that they are all crap and besides they are not in any league so why bother playing them. Why? Cos CS is still a GAME. It was mean to be enjoyed by ppl who are mature enough to see it as a game. I admit leagues are a great thing when you want to compare your skill to other players, but online gaming will never become a serious and accepted sport while the players themselves are so immature and childish.



And to ppl who say that all the changes ruin their gameplay: Look at the dinosaurs: they could adopt, and they are still with us.

The official name of the map is Cobble since it's in CS. The .bsp files is called de_cbble. Like cs_siege is Canyon Siege. Just look at the .txt files in \cstrike\maps.

No, and I'm sure they have solutions for that. They added bots to CS, now it works as a single player game too, so it'll have offline support.

i personally hate cbble =/ i just camp on that map SORRY!!! i like the textures though ;] but i hate steam =/ tooo much of a hassle to have to go to 1 program just to open another =/ hopefully the new version will be a lot better cause it sounds a lot better!!!

eeeeeeeeeh, even if this does go through, i have no intention of buying games over steam. I like the kinetic feeling of having the cd in my hands and saying.... ooooooh yeah. Gotta love box art w00t, ive got a gamestop down the street from my house now, so no problem for me walking through gang territory with a brand new $50 game.... yeah great....

you are missing the point, they aren't saying you just use steam because they are forcing you too. They have to devote time and money into steam. Therefore taking people away from other things. I don't see anything wrong with steam, and if you do I would like to know what that is ? and you should wait for steam not to be in beta to make final decisions.

Steam is very useful, I don't know what you're all complaining about!

It was BETA! Of course it would have some flaws, but that's the whole point!

The best thing about steam is probably 'friends' because it's so damn useful.

Can't wait for the new cbble. I think all maps should be updated (graphically). Look at chateau and havana (not great maps but) they look brilliant.

BTW, DaveJ, Dust2 is by far my favourite CS map...

Steam works great for me...I can play with bots at work and not get in trouble.
