playing on non vac servers

playing on vac secure servers?

as long as its still, in most peoples opinions, better to play on a valve secure server, then vac is still better.

How do HLAmp and nokimod interact with HL?



I'm kind of worried cos I use 2 other programs that interact with HL. CheaterLog and Console Connecter, are they going to be banned soon? Or are they banned now? I'm too scared to test it.

I don't know how exactly both of those programs work, but with the VAC anything is possible. Console Connector, for example, may use the engine functions that executes commands on the client. That is detected/blocked by C-D, and maybe the VAC. Again, I'm not sure how those programs operate.



If I were you, I'd play it safe and stop using all third-party applications.



As for whether non-VAC or VAC servers are better, a non-VAC C-D server is better than any VAC server.

sad thing about this is that i can instal a program that does nothing illegal and get banned by VAC for 5 years, or i can go to cheat-network and download and aimbot/wallhack/multihack whatever elsei want and play without a worry in the world.



its easier to find a cheat thats not caught by VAC than a client side plugin.

Well this is the first time I've heard of this nokimod but i agree, f#$k you VALVE, what next are you going to ruin, Vac only detects cheats five minutes after it's release then the cheats are then recoded to bypass vac, y doesn't VAVLE just give up

I'm all for anti-cheat stuff, and I do like the idea of VAC, but this is just stupid. VAC causes more problems then it solves it seems. There are so many cheats out there that get past VAC that it's pretty pointless updating VAC anyway; it's now much better to just stick C-D on. And these 5 year bans.... that's just crap anyway, way over-the-top. You should just get banned from that particular server, or just banned from all servers for a shorter period of time, like a month or so. I doubt anyone will still be playing the original CS in 5 years time anyway, so you might aswell just say if VAC catches you you'll never play CS again.

Well I'm willing to give up HLAmp. nokimod, console connector and cheaterlog if it stops cheats.



I can understand they need to stop any programs that interact with HL, cos obviously that's how cheats work.



I would just like some prior warning from valve to stop using these legitimate programs if they are going to be detected.

Seriously, I'm new to this and all, but I figure the VAC people has maybe 10-20 people working on it, tops. Or more, if you want. But seriously, with CS being arguably THE most-played online multiplayer game, there's gonna be the programming hacking types out there. And in all probability, they're going to outnumber the VAC workers.



Also, if I was a hacker, I'd think it'd be a simple trick to slide in whatever openings are given to 'non-cheating' 3rd party programs. If I an disguise aimbot to be HLAmp, VAC either has to screw over HLAmp, HLAmp has to fight to look different from aimbot (and VAC has to acknolwedge the new config of HLAmp), and all the aimbot creater has to do is continue to make it look like HLAmp, causing everyone problems. So, VAC chooses to screw over HLAmp.



Seriously guys, go out and write your own cheat-killer program and then complain about VAC. Like I said, I'm new here. I noticed this C-D is already preventing a lot of 3rd party software, but I also noticed that many people think C-D is better than VAC. Maybe VAC has to prevent 3rd party software to be as good as C-D?



Just think about the issue from all angles before you go and do your stereotypical complaining.
