Try to play without hacks? I play without hacks every day.. and yes, my hacks do give me an unfair advantage, and you know why I cheat? Because I know in the back of my mind that half the people on every server out there wallhack and/or use no-recoil. If no one else cheated, of course I wouldn't cheat.. that would be gay. The thing that defines the difference between me and you anti-cheaters is this: I realized a long time ago (when I used to be anti-cheater) that there is NO way to stop hackers. You can NEVER stop people from cheating, so why waste your time trying to fight against it when you can fight back by cheating too? I think that you are thick, and lame-brained to not realize that there will never be a winner in the cheat/anti-cheat war. That is why I hack, end of story.
You're obviously helping the cheating situation by cheating yourself. Thanks for being a horrible failure.

We may not be able to stop them, but at least we have the honor, and the decency to play the game the way it was made to be played. I enjoy my ass off playing in the 3D server, where every single person owns me for 3 cents.

I'm confident I haven't seen a cheater in two weeks. The Valve Anti-Cheat has successfully scared off 7/8 the hardcore cheaters, and successfully stopped 11/12 the cheats out there.

This isn't a forum to be talking about how good you are at cheating.
I used to play in 3D alot then I realized something. What's the fun in playing a game and getting raped like this? I'm not going to get better. Everyone can get good to a point. Most people in servers haven't reached that point but like everyone in team 3D server has.

I think that brazil cheater, dark water, and the monkey are the same person.. very similar writing styles and the same 'signature' at the bottom of each post.

Pretty sad when you have to register 3 times and pretend to be three different people to try to get your point across. Especially if you're a cheater. I'm not going to try to flame your posts because it's pointless... stupidity and reason do not usually come in the same package.

Have you played the game with headphones? It does wonders. Just walk around and I can promise on most servers you'll have tons of people just come running buy you(namely because nobody takes it serious and doesn't expect someone to be using sound and I'm gay and take it serious. Probably because all I play on is public servers. Though they would know I'm there if they were wallhacking). I mean I know there are some good-decent servers but most servers have very bad people in them who don't cheat and will accuse your of cheating. I think you're one like this one person I was playing with. I killed him with a running ak headshot 3 times(we met at the pinch point in the hallway so it was point blanc). Basically I just kept killing him everytime I saw him round after round. He left and came back. He was disconnected by VAC. He then came back after that and for some god damn reason pause was an option on the server and he did that like crazy. He wasn't cheating then and probably didn't cheat normally but he thought someone was so he ruined the game for everyone else.

I'm not allowed to use my crutch(edit: crutch = awp) and camp spawn. Talk about an unlevel playing field!

I can guarantee that I am not darkwater or monkey.

Anyway I dont need to prove anything.

Exo, VAC has not blocked 11/12 cheaters as you said. Here is a quote from a cheater (not me):

"There was not a time i could not cheat at some level on any of the "secure" servers !!! "

Once a guy is a cheater, he gets addicted to it. He will never leave cheating, even if is limited to just colored models for example.

more than 90% of cheaters keep cheating.

Yet, you said that valve blocked 7/8 of cheats.

              WRONG information.

On CS 1.3, the power of cheats were just centralized on OGC.

No individual hack developers could appear, as OGC was the state-of-art, and there was really no need to make anything else.

Now, with ogc decay, MORE THAN 20 different cheats appeared and more show up every day.

TODAY (yes, thats what I meant) there had been a new release of an Opengl AIMBOT. Aimbot with real-aiming. OGC just keeps updating its version of his mult-hack (yes, there is a vac-proof multi-hack by OGC).

As you can see, cheating comunity is stronger than ever. Its just more spread into individual coders, not centralized as before on OGC hands.

Cheating is such a funny subject here and everywhere for that matter, cheaters constantly register and re-register only to post comments that yes we should all be afraid because they can still "hack" (btw, being a computer geek, i hate it when that term is used for some dumbass who doesn't know much beyond what a command line switch is), oh no you can use wallhack and no-recoil, big deal, when are you gonna realize that if you put yourself using that against anyone thats been playing for more than a few months that you can't hide behind your cheats anymore and that people that really like cs, public players and clans alike have moved past giving two-flips if you can cheat and what your reasons are.

cheating to stop cheaters, that makes about as much since yelling at a kid the craves negative attention.

all real players of cs and any game out there are anti-cheaters because they just want to play the game like normal people and take pride in the fact that they can play well without having to fall back to some lame ass program

in short, if you cheat and you're proud of it, get out of your parents basement and get a fucking life.

I mean really, wow. You must be so cool, you are a part of the cheating community that is so amazing. Since you, a lone cheater, post this information on CS-Nation, it MUST be true. STOP THE PRESSES. CALL Valve, tell them to stop with VAC! All hail OGC!

It might be some sort of coordinated thing from a cheating forum, but the IPs are all different. I doubt they're the same person.

Anyway cheaters certainly have a right to speak their mind and I'm happy they're doing it here without breaking any rules.

Personally I don't think the article was all that informative, but it sparked an interesting discussion in the comments (and that was the entire point of the article).

By the way, the circle logic of "I wouldn't cheat if no one else did" is pointless. You're being on a level playing field with possibly one or two players and, even then, the computer handles the skill. Cheating in a cheaters-only-insecure server isn't as lame as botching a CAL-I match, but it isn't excusable. An honest CS player would never have the will, need, nor cynicism to go download OGC and play on "Bob's Hackfest CS 1.5."

An honest CS player is better than that. A dishonest one, however, simple ignores the insecure servers and targets the ones designed for fair play. That goes beyond the "fun" of cheating: you're simply harassing an entire community.

By the way, I live in a parallel universe where cheats are a really huge issue. Because they're basically not. Wallhack here and there, but with constant updating you're weeding out the casual hackers and possibly even detecting the hardcore ones off-guard. Plus, the OGC wallhack is certainly no OGC client hook.

Exo... not a bad article. From my perspective, it reminded me of a CNN article dealing with something computer related. Most details are left out or simplified simply to make it easier to read and to get the basic point across. Granted, rizzuh's intro to it, claiming you had detailed the history of anti-cheats, probably didn't put the right perspective on it. If we wanted to read the Encyclopedia Counter-Strike entry on "Anti-Cheat, History of", or you had claimed to be writing such an article, then yes, leaving out everything ranging from TSC, Paladin, Jedinocheat, and Yesnid's original cvar checker plugins would have been inexcusable. As it was, though, it did a good job of recaping a few highlights of the anti-cheat movement.

Okay, on to responding to the idiots who post, er, um, I mean the comments of other members. :)

First thought: when I see things like
The Valve Anti-Cheat has successfully scared off 7/8 the hardcore cheaters, and successfully stopped 11/12 the cheats out there.
                        or...
more than 90% of cheaters keep cheating.
                        (stupidity emphesized),

I can't help but laugh at these "statistics" being tossed around here. Seriously, did one of you happen to take a poll? Or did you use your amazing "private cheat" (among the thousands, if not millions, lol, of other cheats) with the new enhanced special "find other cheaters and survey their computers" option? Really people, throwing out "statistics" that are really just made up rough numbers which are coming from opinions and impressions, not facts, hurts your point a lot more than it helps it.

So some of you cheaters like to "level the playing field" with the very few other cheaters out there, who similarly lack any real skill. No, don't claim you have skill, because you don't. If you had skill, you wouldn't cheat. Cheating destroys any chance to show skill, and is an admission that you're lacking skill in an area, whether auditory skill (thus needing a wall hack), or aim skill (thus needing a bot and/or no-recoil).

I also like to level the playing field. It's called admin_ban, and it always worked wonders in leveling the playing field for those players who weren't self-centered assholes, while I was an admin. I suppose I shall just wait peacefully for the cheaters to be banned forever.

Yeah, cheating, and hacks in general, is pretty damn gay. But you know, I've used an old OpenGL wall hack several times. Granted, not while playing against anyone, but simply on my own listenserver all by myself. Why? I found it's incredibly useful to get an idea of where everything is in a map through the walls. When you're an experienced CS player, you have an idea of spots people tend to camp. Transparent walls help you learn about where on the wall you'll have to shoot hit someone camping there. For example, as a CT on prodigy, learning where to shoot through the wall by the outside room to hit T's coming through the doorway from the APC. So far I haven't come across anyone who objects to that use, though.

I'll leave you with this one thought. Just because VAC doesn't currently kick and/or ban you for using some generic cheat... this doesn't mean it's not detecting it. I'm going to laugh if VAC is detecting far more than you realize, and simply collecting information to use later to screw you all at the same time, in a big way. Perhaps this isn't the case, but you can't ignore the possibility. Or you can ignore the possibility, in fact, feel free to. It's your WonID to toss in the trash can, not mine. :)

The way I look at the whole cheat/anti-cheat ordeal now is that I don't care if people cheat. If people want to take the easy way, then fine. Its lame and unethical, but its their decision. Whats wrong with a bit of hard work though? It never killed anyone.

Valve really can't (and never will) win with a lot of the community. Cheating now is nowhere near the anarchic levels it used to be and VAC still hasn't been fully implemented. I trust a lot more of the players I see now, regardless of these few homegrown wallhacks floating around.

Its been said a number of times before in this thread that the VAC can never detect all the MILLIONS (ahem) of homemade, small hacks.

                                And you're right.

But what you keep forgetting is the fact that the VAC doesn't have to detect all the MILLIONS of hacks that are out there. As soon as one of those hacks becomes popular enough to be an issue, Valve detect and block the cheat. One person with one hack isn't a problem in the grand scheme of things - Thousands of players with one hack is.

Whatever people say, cheating is far less commonplace that it once was, and for every player that is using a small hack, theres now thousands of "clean" players. Thats a giant step forward, and things are only going to get better.
