True, true. And it's top to be able to watch the same section over again without restarting the demo. But I long for the day when we can choose any view and check the scores at any point in the demo... a pipe dream?

I agree with you mouth, tfc/dmc/... updates have nothing to do with HL updates. Though this update was worth dl cause of the demoplayer. But I got a problem with the playback of "old" demos (1.4 and 1.3): I cannot view em (that's nothing new I know, but the readme states that 1.5 introduced a new command serverversion which can be set to the demoHLversion in order to view it but HL doesn't recognize this command) Anybody able to help me ?

Well, some news, there's a fix on the forums, but then again... IT DOESN'T WORK... grr i didn't like 1.4 'cause of the jumping and the handgun accuracy, but i really start to hate 1.5 even before i've played it.

well, i cant get my cs 1.5 to go into multiplayer. I first d/led the patch, but when i clicked the button to go to the section with all the servers, it said i didnt ahve the latest version. So i went to custom game to see if i had it installed or not, and it said i had 1.5 installed. but it still didnt work, so i deleted all of cs out, then re d/led it . but its still not working. Am i the only one with this problem or r others haveing it too?

Ps. its also doin it with my reg. hl and tfc.

Not all servers are updated yet (those slow bastards) and that gives you the error messages (outdated protocol etc.). I would suggest to find a server with "1.5" in the name and try there. Personally i had no problems whatsoever with the update, and after an hour playing Ricochet, I'm starting to like it too :)

ARGH ARGH ARGH ARGH ARGH!!! This whole not letting me play after i freaking installed it twice crap is really getting irratating! Someone plz help! every aspect of my hl is down. everytime i try to go into multiplayer i get the same thing. it tells me it is our of date, so i run the built in updater thing, and it tells me i have the latest version installed. then i try it again, and i get the same thing! someone plz help

I have used Steam before, I was a private beta tester, so I know how it works.

I'd rather have one large file to download one time, then small files to download many times. As I said before you wouldn't be able to use custom models. What about the community there?

Moose it's a temporary file, and if the cache is bad it redownloads everything.

Back to joncarwash, "it is still in testing" CS is still in testing you nut. They should have never removed that beta tag to begin with. You don't see MOHAA beta 9.11 ok you see MOHAA because it's a complete fucking game. CS is not a complete game at all. If it were they would have never changed the jumping in the first place, OR never had it like the way it used to be, in the first place. And that's just one example.

I've always dissed Valve, and Cliff and Goose are sell outs. How about that? I said they could have done that crap on they're own, and they could have, got that?

Oh and about paying for things. I pay for my DSL, I paid for half life. That's all I need to fucking pay for. The people that make servers, that's they're own responsibility. If I wanted a server I'd get my own. I pay for my own domain and hosting service. Not my parents, so don't go on about that. I don't play Ever Quest because you got to pay for it while you play, that's BS, I won't play FFXI because you're going to have to pay for that too, and I'm a great fan of the FF series. However, if that were the case, the damn game should be free, and then you have to pay to use it. But WTF is this pay just to get it, pay just to play crap. All it is is another company trying to rip the people off. Valve doesn't need the money.

BTW I just played 1.5, no problems whatsoever. The 1600x1200 res rocks major ass. But the game still sucks 1.4 style :-|

Also have no idea how that demo player works. It started playing the demo, and then stopped and I couldn't do anything. Oh well...

UncleFu, hopefully Valve will update the servers/clients over the net soon to forever ban the cheaters downloading and using this cheat!
