Are we all going to have to pay monthly when Cs 1.6 comes out because you have to have Steam. Well you know what I think of that? (Sticks Middle Finger Up). How much is steam anyways?

"How everyone moans at a game that has been made and modified over 3 years completely free. I guess the moaners also downloaded their copy of HL for nothing on a P2P network and generated their own WON ID, proberly using one that a paying person allready had!"
I bought both CS and Halflife. Then 1.4 came along. Now I can spin and headshot with an AK.
Yeah, the realism never ends...
PS-If Steam ever costs money, CS will simply fail.Comment

Where in the land of jesus cocks did you get the fucked up idea you will have to pay monthly for cs when it plops onto the steam platform?

Next patch comes around, you run steam.exe instead of hl.exe, steam dls any extra content (your existing cs installation will stay put, steam will live with it and pull the newer files from the steam servers as it needs them) you wont need to re-dl it every game unless youve never needed it before (IE youve never played de_arsefest even tho its been out for a month, you go to play it and the magic of steam provides!)
Steam-CS wont be pay per play, the whole PPP idea was a concept that valve mentioned as a 'option' for anyone wanting to use their steam distro for something like that. Some people just grabbed the wrong end of the stick and ran a marathon with it.Comment

Looks like i was right. You're a goddamned idiot.
LOL! Stop bitching about file sizes. 86 megs for the full 1110 and 116 megs for full CS 1.5 is NOTHING.
No, 86 megs is not "nothing". It can take quite a while to DL which is unacceptable when most of it should be OPTIONAL and SEPERATE. For mirrors, it's a matter of 430 gigs of traffic for 5,000 people instead of 125. For people on modems, it's 7~ hours of downloading instead of 3~. For everyone else, it's about not wanting bloated patches.rizzuh wrote..The cache is corrupted on purpose. That is how/why it downloads the full thing every single time.
Which i suppose in Valve's case could be considered a "feature". For "testing purposes".
Will Steam be useless? Unless it does something to further the anti-cheating cause, yes. Will it cost you money? ALMOST CERTAINLY NOT. As was stated on the Steam boards a while ago, the only people that will have to pay are the ones that don't already own HL or CSretail. Why am i saying this? I don't know. You're all going to end up in a panic over paying the next time someone mentions Steam anyway.Comment

I know how to fix the NextWish Scriptor. All you have to do is goto for example C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\cstrike\NextWish\ and copy the nwcs1.cfg and nwcs2.cfg and put them into your C:\Sierra\Counter-Strike\cstrike\ folder. Then in your autoexec.cfg if you have one put exec nwcs1.cfg and exec nwcs2.cfg. The reason that you have to do this is because CS 1.5 dosnt support \s in the exec command line anymore so they wont be read in the NextWish folder. Anyways that fixes the probs.Comment
