I have noticed a few differences with the m4 being more(maybe even too) accurate and the AK being almost useless. Using scoped guns feels much easier (I'm a scout person myself), but that could be the sprite wich feels just more focused.

All in all, I expect everything will be fine. They do need to fix some latency issues, but that's just the prediction code that needs a tweak here and there, it certainly isn't a show stopper. Same for grenades and kits that are stuck mid-air, it'll be fixed, but that's not their main concern for the beta. Maybe those fixes are already implemented in the final release, but they just don't see the point in releasing those particular updates for the beta(=speculation)?

Unfortunately, I doubt this has anything to do with registery.

It must be a miracle among miracles then, that I'd be the only one who think they're fine. A miracle I say.
Nah, I just think there's a difference in either our computers, or our recognition of the problem (or lack thereof). You're definitely not the only one who thinks it's the same. That's fine.
So what's this whole point I've been making? Oh yeah, you have a problem with the hit detection, send in some proof to Valve with your suggestions, it's a LOT better than whining here. Which is exactly what he's doing, and as a result nothing will be changed and he'll continue to cry about it.
I'll try to round up some friends and make a movie regarding the problem, that's the best 'proof' I can give you or Valve. I think I've refrained from whining about the issue, I've just talked about the problems I'm having.

So stop whining, start making movies, or screenshots, or.. sand.. castles.. but do something!

Please do. I don't doubt for a second that some people are experiencing troubles with the game....I just think that it probably isn't the game's (or, by extension, Valve's) fault, per se. It's probably some hardware configuration issue, which Valve might even be able to fix if they can track it to its source (no pun intended).

Collecting and distributing evidence is definitely the best way to go. Bashing Valve and blaming them for problems that occur in the minority (I think) of players isn't very productive.

You're all very sadly mistaken, it has nothing to do with the netcode, it has to do with the hit detection system, the netcode by standards is fine no lag spikes or anything it's the hit detection that feels like it's over 10 years old.

ya i agree with paladin about the code being stolen n crap... but i think its because vavle/steam guys are launching to many projects for them to handle. first they got cz, cs 1.6, and deleted scenes, then the cs source beta, and now hl2.

They have everyone working on code and updates for those games, that i doubt they have any time for finishing hl2 any time soon. Although, it is good to finish and get all the kinks out of a game before releasing it so the game runs smooth.

Far cry is doing the same thing, they havent released 1.2 patch in like 6 weeks, they had to recall it... do to problems with certain peoples computers. I think its a good call to wait for something to be (somewhat) perfected then released ahead of time and patched 50 billion times due to problems.

a prim example of valve not having any time on their hands is the web site www.counter-strike.net it hasnt been updated or finished in months. so just wait for them to catch up :P

honestly people ...... ignore your damn cursor ... realize you cant shoot from the hip and then play the game .... ignore the graphics ignore everyhting and just shoot like you shoot in 1.6 .... ITS THE SAME .... I USED TO have problems like you do ..... i swear i bitched about it day and night but after i forced myself to ignore the graphics/physics engine and focused on my bullets and aim i realized its identical to 1.6 ....honestly if you dont see it (And i understand if you dont as it is alot diff in OTHER ways) you will play a match and be like .... wow ... its the same and i was just silly

flame if you must but that is my OPINION and you are welcome to your OPINION when it isnt biasedly placed or ignorantly said

CS.net has always been totally out-dated, it's almost some kind of tradition. It just wouldn't feel the same if it wasn't. :)

Sometimes, people are too obsessed with CS. Even I, someone who has played countless hours of CS, could honestly not care about differences in the network/aim. Because to me, nothing much has changed, it still plays the same.
