usually writers use less words for such descriptions to drive the story

The worst (or best for you sick bastards) part of the whole series was when he shot the two helicopter pilots, then proceeded to blow off the V.I.P.'s limbs one by one...then stab his torso!



I prefer Tom Clancy's way of describing gunfights: they're still gruesome, just not sadistic.
