CS Central has started a new story titled "Heart of an AWPer." Written by Ryo-Ohki, they will be updated every Monday. Here is what they are all about:

The story featured here is a fictional account of a young terrorist who is only ever identified as "the recruit". His age is never mentioned, but I think of him as early to mid twenties. Each week a new chapter in the story will be posted here, with each chapter corresponding to a map from Counter-Strike. Most of the maps are accurately presented but I take a little artistic license in places.

Sounds interesting but a bit too realistic. Boot Camp and Italy are the first two chapters that have been posted. Go take a looksie!~

Heart of an AWPer

Ryo-Ohki from CS-Central has added another chapter to his growing 'Heart of an AWPer' tale.

The bullet slammed into the nasal cavity and exploded out the rear of the skull, destroying the handsome smirking face forever. The recruit turned a fraction, the next soldier lined up as the new face showed surprise at the death of his comrade. He had no more time to be surprised as the bullet tore through his Kevlar vest like paper and pulverized his lung cavity. Spinal column shattered, the soldier's body, almost ripped in half by the force of the blow, sank lifelessly to the dank floor of the tunnel.

Heart of an AWPer

Chapter 5 of Heart of an AWPer by Kieran "Ryo-Ohki" Witham has just been released. The story is a fictional account about a young terrorist who's age is not mentioned. He is simply known as "the recruit". Each week a new chapter is released corresponding with a map from Counter-Strike, chapter 5 is called "Dust II".



Here is a tidbit:

The ash hung in the air, swirling in eddies as the desert winds whistled through the ruins. Sand piled up over the broken bricks, the shattered crates, and the bleached white bones of men that lay scattered over the remains of the fort. The blazing sun beat down upon the earth below, and upon the lone figure that walked through the blasted ruins.

It's a good read and I can't wait for Oilrig.

Heart of an AWPer

The saga of The Recruit continues, as another episode of Ryo-Ohki's Heart Of An AWPer has been released for public consumption over at CS Central. This one is Chapter 11 in the series and is titled Jail.

With a soft thud the recruit fell to the dank floor of his cell, blood oozing from between his lips. The jailor gave him a kick in the ribs, and seeing no reaction, grunted and walked off, locking the cell door behind him. Coughing up a wad of blood and phlegm, the recruit rolled onto his back and tried to ignore the burning pain over his bruised and broken body.



He had no idea how many days it had been since the last stand of his squad in downtown Novosibirsk, as no sunlight was allowed to penetrate into the lower levels of the prison he was interred in. He shared his cell with his corporal and the two other terrorists who had survived the assault, and with the damp room being only three meters square, it was hardly comfortable. But, he thought grimly, their captors didn't care if their prisoners were comfortable, or even if they were alive.

Heart of an AWPer

Ryo-Ohki has written another 2 episodes (Chapter 12: High-Rise part 1 & Chapter 13: High-Rise part 2) of his popular "Heart of an AWPer" series for CS Central. Here's a small tidbit from Ch. 12 High-Rise part 1:

Hours had passed before he woke again, and struggling to overcome his wounds the recruit tried to remember where the nearest NOD safe house was. He knew there was one somewhere nearby, as if the assault on the warehouse had been driven off the squad had been going to aim for it. But the recruit was not stupid. He knew that his broken body needed medical attention, and if he didn't receive it soon he would die. Although death would be a release from the pain, the desire to kill still lurked inside. Thus the recruit had staggered out of the alley in search of safety.
