Watch out for those hackers. Most are dumd as a box of rocks filled with helium, which makes them all the more dangerous with the newest cheats and hacking programs. If you piss off a guy with a nuclear bomb, would you rather piss off the guy that knows that the radiation is going to f--k him up too, or the guy who thinks chaos theory has something to do with Satanism?

Also in response to niets and you other cheaters, cheating in cs IS a mirror on crime in the greater world. Much like how cs desensitizes us to violence, cheating in cs desensitises cheaters to petty crime and corruption.
At this point i could provide an argument but i believe that this is as good:

    um...no

I thought that was a very nice read Sublyme. Anist's claim to have an agent in every cheating clan however seems simply like an exaggeration to create some paranoia. Anist's group strikes me as quite independant, and as such pose a threat equal to the cheating clans to the counter-strike community in terms of long term damage. I refer to the ability to abuse their position and information.

I quite liked the part of the article that spoke about following around cheaters to make them leave. This works, this really does - I can vouch for it. If I see a cheater in my local servers, thats the method, follow them, block them, shoot them, alert enemies with noise etc. You demonstrate to them that as long as they are on the server, you'll be next to them getting in the way, they leave.

Anyway it takes a cheater to stop cheater. In the same way like white hackers and black hackers. I have seen white cheaters or hackers who may use of hyper autoaims to "lock" on to cheaters and kill them without getting killed. In assault this is very obvious, i have tried this before and it works. A T who is a cheater or i assume is one, headshot everyone with a M3 shotgun. He was near the 3 computers and from that height, he headshot everyone with the M3. That was impossible even with autoaim and mind you it took him only one shot to kill one guy. So use 'megahyperautoaim mode' I lock on to him permenantly. I never wanted to use it anyway but since he was bragging non-stop i decided to kick his ass.

In this mode, i can even shoot through the walls even with a glock!

In order to insult him, I swap teams and began my quest with nailing him with a glock18. Everyone knew what i was doing and steered clear. After about nailing him 10 times in a roll with the glock he left and I promptly shut that mode off and resume normal play.

P.S: I used to be a cheater when i was a newb, now with the ability to frag 2-3 guys with a single clip M4A1 mag, i am cheater no more.

Though i still can't get in to public servers and forced to play at net cafes.

Awesome article. I never expected people to be doing this. Although its great that people are doing this, I can't imagine what the people that do this kind of stuff do in their spare time besides play games. If you're so devoted to CS that you would go in and play savior for the community, you should join the FBI or make a better use for yourself =P

Of course the author of this article/proprieter of this idea has yet to realize that THE MOST FOOLISH THING THEY COULD DO IS TALK ABOUT THIS PROGRAM!!!!!!! If we let on even the existance of such cheating-espionage agents, then we tip off people to increase caution/paranoia/whatever, and that makes their job that much harder.
You should tell that to 60 Minutes.
true, but you should consider that the CS community is much more smaller than what 60 minutes handles.

Anist I appreciate your post and the clarification it provided on your motives for your work. My sentiment was that to protect the effectiveness of what you've done it might be more effective to keep it under wraps but I'd say that your goals are well-implemented and a good step in the right direction. Thanks for taking the time to explain them!

rizzuh I understand your point about 60 minutes, and I'm not sure if I should take it as a direct response or as a sarcastic agreement. If it was the former, then I'd say just 'cause 60 Minutes makes everything public doesn't mean that we should follow their poor example. If it was the latter, then...well...damn str8. =)

Anisty, I applaud what you and your group is doing, especially the psywar you carried out with the IRC allegations and backbiting.

I now see the seeds of the larger operation: by announcing on CSNation that you've got at least one inside guy (or girl, let's be fair) in every cheating clan, those clans are forced to wonder "who's the narc?"

Brilliant. Keep it up, since CS keeps me sane in between sleeping and the [real job/house/rent/bills] world.

Is it just me or didn't punkbuster do the exact same thing (i.e. have their programmers pretend to be hackers so they they could better develop their anti-hacking program)? Obviously that didn't stop cheaters or anything. Cheaters really don't care if there is a narc super secret agent because its not like they will actually receive punishment. What is the worse that can happen to them? Sombebody develops counter-measures for their cheats? Big whoop dee doo, they will just make another one. Its obvious that they don't care about reputation so reavealing them won't do anything. In fact, I don't understand why cheaters should care at all if there is an agent in their cheating clan.

What Valve should do is require everbody to register half-life with a credit card. Then, if a person is caught cheating, it immediately takes out millions upon millions of dollars. Until there are real consequences, cheaters really won't care. For reals.

Very good article, Very good work done by the E team! I'm so happy that somebody is finally doing something about the "Lesser Known" cheats.. The ones that go undetected still to this day because no one even knows they exist.

Keep up the good work, I hope together we can all beat these cheaters who ruin our fun, and waste our time.
