I'm extremely paranoid, so if I was to mute the gabby folk, I'd think they were talking about me behind my back or something.



Fade in zoom would be nice, I mean, it's not as though a real sniper moves the rifle to his eye immediately. I've been hearing an interesting idea as of late, if they made a sniper rifle fireable only when standing still, or crouching, like some of the weapons in fire arms[may have just been some machine guns, or sniper rifles too, I haven't played FA for a long time].



If you're using the idea that getting shot in the arm with the awp would basically make you unable to shoot, well, the same goes for just about any gun.

Who likes games that anyone dumb fuck with a mouse and a keyboard can be God like at in a matter of seconds? With the AWP, it forces you to adapt, to check corners, to expect the unexpected

I wasn't aware that any gun that doesn't kill with one hit is easy to use, and that you certainly don't need to be on your toes and be ready for anything, with a UMP, you can just waltz into a room and kill anyone at all, it's just that easy, even if people are in the corners, or taking cover, it's no problem, because the bullets are heat seeking, and go through anything.

you make it sound as if i said that you don't need to be ready with any other gun maybe i was a little bit misleading and well, i apologize for that but still, any moron can go around with a colt spraying and barely moving the mouse, and can end with a kill. now that i think about it.. i guess its the same with all the other guns, they just arent nearly as abrupt as the AWP.

points against awp:



-is the only gun that will kill in one hit, to a completely armored body if hit in the head, torso, or arms.



-is nearly unbeatable at long ranges, except by another awp.



-Takes much less skill to use then other popular weapons.



-a skilled awper can completely own a game.



-can ruin the game for anyone not using the awp.



-awp whores are a minority, and aren't very well liked by the rest of the community.

Simplex, don't get too upset about my post, it's not meant to be personal. Reading over your comments, I had been thinking of a guy I played against on a regular basis on the college LAN, who was also an AWP whore. I ended up having to avoid playing when he was on, because I always ended up frustrated. Either he was on my team, and we raped the enemy team round after round (not fun), or he was awping against my team and destroying them.



I wouldn't use the AWP out of personal objection to it, so it was down to scouting to take him out if my team was to have any chance on many maps. I almost always got the first shot in, but only about 1/3 of those were headshots, and he always hit me in return very quickly. So, many rounds started with me doing ~60 damage to him with my scout, and then getting killed instantly by an arm or chest shot. The point was, I was technically the better sniper between us two, but he killed me much more often simply because he had the easy one-hit-kill ability (not to mention the greater overall accuracy of the AWP).



So... that was on my mind largely when thinking about awp whores in general. Sure, I've never played with or against you to my knowledge, Simplex, but it was the general feeling of being pissed at how many games I've had ruined by a tallented sniper not realizing that he can largely unbalance the game.



By the way, in the above story, I'm not trying to brag about my own sniping skill. I'm absolute crap on my 56k when it comes to sniping, unfortunately. Takes far too long for the server to validate each event (like unzooming and working the bolt and rezooming and such).



Ah well, anyway... maybe with my insane typing speeds and love for making fun of people, I shall officially title my long comment rants as a "commentbag" or something. Or maybe not, because that name sounds really stupid.

This one has a good balance between being good, informative and useful and being plain Rizzuh funny.



I never really liked the mailbags where Rizzuh just mindlessly insulted the submitters... it wasn't that funny and it wasn't informative to read either. But this one is not bad. Keep up the good work Rizzuh!

That's only if the other person doesn't kill them first, so if you do die against someone who's just spraying, you're either worse than them to begin with, they've gotten the drop on you, they right out get a lucky HS, or, they just plain had you out gunned[such as 5-7 vs colt, no offense to the 5-7 intended].
