every time you say something retarded like that you're just helping me.
He says, just before comparing gaming to drug and/or alcohol addiction.
not when it becomes completely off topic, idiot
    Thank you, captain context.
actually I was insulting you all by saying you are too stupid to try to resolve the argument, but whatever
You couldn't even do that right, which explains a lot. To everyone except you, i'm sure.

And actually, what you were doing was more along the lines of saying "Hmph. I'm omniscient, so obviously the problem is everyone else". If we could've seen you with arms akimbo and your hips to 1 side, it would've been perfect.

Talking about it being ridiculous being loyal to a game, isn't it silly to be loyal to a country or sovereign too?

Loyalty is a very human thing and is therefore dripping with silliness, be it coca-cola or a country or anything else.
      very true

"With new clans, leagues, fansites and articles (like this one!) being uploaded on a daily basis. Is it clear enough for you now? That went through 2 editors and thousands of other readers, and you're the only one who didn't understand. And you call me a bad writer?"

yes I do. of course I knew what it meant, but that doesn't make it correct, jackass.

"yeah, few people know that Ben Franklin had a mean .400 batting average when he was at his peak, and the Pilgrims had guys that could make 70 yard field goals.

narby already proved my point on this one. Read a fucking history book, illiterate."

yes, I read your post, but I am illiterate.

I don't want to write the same thing over, so I will just direct you to post # 35. I doubt you will actually read it, though

" 'Definitions,' and 'analyzing' are big words? Wow, where have I been?"

They are big words for retards like you. I'm guessing you were at the Special Olympics when they announced it.

"Loyalty can be used in many different contexts, you clearly aren't seeing the right one. Props to narby on proving me right on this one, as well."

yes, it can be used in different contexts, but your essay was not one of them.

"You know, if anybody's a child here, it's you. Attacking somebody's age is usually used only when you want to feel better about yourself. I'm pretty sure I'm better with English than you are, so go jump off a cliff."

I wasn't attacking your age, I was asking it. If you felt it was an attack you must feel that your age would have lost you credibility.

      I'm betting he's under 13, any takers?

"now you're just plain wrong for trying to disprove that statement."

once again, to find out what I was saying, go to post #35

"calling somebody a dumbass is not the same as saying he's wrong for saying the definition of loyalty has changed over the years. the response you made to his statement was completely irrelevant."

I wasn't trying to prove him wrong, I was showing everyone how stupid he was. the entire idea of the article is retarded.

"you do realize there is more than 1 version of the dictionary, don't you? your definition is not the only correct one."

      find a dictionary that disagrees

      "yes you are."

thank you, may I have another?

"of course something you're loyal to will take over a part of your life, silly. he never said how large of a part, though."

yes he did. AND I QUOTE:

"Generally, if you place online gaming over spending time with a girlfriend or perhaps some relatives, you can consider yourself loyal."

      EAT IT, BIATCH

"now that's called being loyal to a brand, which is not one of the following:"

we already went over this. narby said

"A feeling or attitude of devoted attachment and affection."

      is loyalty.

I said that counter-strike is not a brand, so there.

"Theres a difference between being loyal and being addicted. An addiction implies you cannot stop doing something even if you wanted to.

Loyalty is supporting something by choice. You can show devotion to a computer game just by playing it a lot."

I'm guessing you don't know much about addicts, or the AA system. Most addicts don't know they are addicted, until they try to stop.

I think there are two levels; one group of you guys is actually addicted (~The Observer~ is in here), and lose your social life, thinking that you are giving it up, when it is really being taken from you.

The other group (narby is in here) like counter-strike, but mistake their preference for this game as loyalty, when it is really just preference.

"I play a lot of bf1942, Mafia, gta3 but I still come back to CS even with new game releases. Why? Because I enjoy playing it."

let's take another look at this quote:

      1:"Because I enjoy playing it."

Narby, are you saying that being loyal to cs is the same thing as enjoying playing it?

"He says, just before comparing gaming to drug and/or alcohol addiction."

you really don't think you can become addicted to games? what about that guy who committed suicide over everquest? I suppose he was "loyal" to it, not addicted, huh?

"If we could've seen you with arms akimbo and your hips to 1 side, it would've been perfect."

I'll bet you wanted to see that

      I win

"People who play CS a great deal, more than any other game they may have, are being loyal to counter-strike as a game."

                how are they being loyal??

all you are saying is that playing one game a whole lot makes you loyal to it. I can't help but think that you are exchanging the word "loyal" for the word "addicted."

"I play a lot of bf1942, Mafia, gta3 but I still come back to CS even with new game releases. Why? Because I enjoy playing it."

that still doesn't make you loyal to it
acctualy it does make u loyal to it. CS is not an addiction u dont NEED a fix every hour of the day. if you were addicted to a video game that would be sad because pretty much anyone here can willing stop playing CS for a day a week or even a month. As my friend found out(who thought i was addicted to CS) bet me 25$ i couldn't go a month without CS. so i proved him wrong. of course some ppl will say there "addicted" to the video game but what is relly happening is that he/she just finds it fun to go and play that game every day every hour and why? maybe because they find that game the best and they are loyal toward it for that time being

ya, i would have to agree with him also, pretty much on all of his points...loyalty is not really just a liking, or a preferance, but a deep emotional attachment...um, yea. all the other stuff he said is perfectly valid, and makes much more sense than any of narby's arguments or the others who want to get on narbys good side or something so they can be mentioned in the next aztec credits box...bleh, now mouth is gonna say how hes just arguing because he wants to prove "this fuckmuffin wrong"...ya, well anyhoo, keep arguing, im not very good at this, especilly when i come in towards the end (i hope....)

Loyalty = choosing it over a better deal

Loyalty = love for the game....yes....love. One can love a game, just as they can love a car or a football.

                          Simple as that. No question.

wow you really are stupid. did you complete high school? are you still living with your parents?

I was responding to someone who said "no one agrees with you," and so I said people do agree with me, it's just that you don't notice them because they generally post once, and never again. moron

"CS is not an addiction u dont NEED a fix every hour of the day. if you were addicted to a video game that would be sad because pretty much anyone here can willing stop playing CS for a day a week or even a month."

how do you know that? do you personally know every person here?

"As my friend found out(who thought i was addicted to CS) bet me 25$ i couldn't go a month without CS. so i proved him wrong."

did you play other games instead? try the bet again with no TV and no computer AT ALL. and try the bet with no cash reward. then see how easy it is

"maybe because they find that game the best and they are loyal toward it for that time being"

define "loyal" as it is used in that sentence. I still think you are mistaking it for some other word. perhaps "need" is the right one. 'they find that game the best and they need it for that time being."

and by need I mean "To be in need or want" leaning more to the want side

"Loyalty = choosing it over a better deal"

exactly, but I want them to understand what that means. It means actually PREFERRING another game MORE, but still playing couner-strike. and because counter-strike is a GAME, and NOTHING MORE, it would be against the natural order of the world to continue to play counter-strike.

it's like eating shit, when you have a big, juicy steak right next to it.

that's why you cannot be loyal to counter-strike; no one actually does that, and no one should.

can I say "I win" yet?
