I agree here.



The server or Admin will ALWAYS be able to do cheating things and will. It just happens.



Even online really dumb n00bs given Admin on their own Clan's server that they only joined for the admin in the first place, tend to cheat alittle.



Someone kills me and gets cocky, so I argue with him because he claims to be better then me, and I ownz him with mp5 navy a few rounds in a row, he then of course... admin_slay me when he started it.



Things like this happen all the time.



In LAN or Online always play with the most responsible servers and admins you can find. (If there's a such thing)



But hey, it's their server and their machine, let them do what the fuck they want, and half the time it is TKers and arguing whining dumbasses and awpers that earn the Admin's abuse of power.



The other half of the time your playing with die_scum as admin.

As a former LAN admin, I get annoyed by people who think that the one example of a bad admin that they saw is true of all LAN admins. Most admins who aren't immature morons with a new network cards are actually quite responsible and much better behaved than the average player you'll find.



If you don't like the LAN server you play on, HOST YOUR OWN. Or, alternately, you could increase your skill level, and play CS online with your 56k. Oh no! Not a 250 ping! Anything but that! If you're any good, you'll still be able to compete, even if you die a bit more often.



Honestly, I don't see how anyone can have the balls to intentionally continue to join servers they KNOW allow cheating, then blame the company that provides the technology for cheat-free servers for their stupid, stupid choice. If LAN "ownz" so much as you claim, then stop whining about the cheating that you're seeking out. Otherwise, LAN doesn't really own, so do something to fix the problem you've created for yourself, instead of just bitching about it to the rest of us.



Another thought. VAC stops not just specific cheats, but also methods of cheating. Try as you may, your "customized" versions of whatever hack honestly aren't going to work on a VAC + HLG server, end of story. And to the person wondering about the victories of VAC against cheaters: when's the last time you saw people cheating on a secure server? The fact of the matter is, it's a rare sight to even suspect someone anymore. This a few months after the accusation of "cheater!" used to be typed more often than "ns" or "gg" or whatever.



And as to why people make cheats. Why do people play CS? For fun, and for competition. And honestly, chances are that the cheat developers (the few actual programmers out there, ignoring their lack of ethics for the moment) are having a blast trying to outsmart Valve, failing as they may be at the moment. It's like people who play with the AWP constantly. They're not there for the enjoyment of all, they just want to screw others for their personal pleasure.



Thanks again Valve... we really do appreciate your hard work.

and pansy, you're truely an idiot, if the LAN server your playing on has sv_cheats enabled then boo-hoo get your mommy to buy you cable or dsl, honestly at first I thought you were talking about at a college somewhere, but then you said 56k so I know your not dialing out on the college phones, which is confusing me, so I guess you're talking about at a cyber cafe or something, and if the server admin has sv_cheats enabled there, then he's a freaking moron.



I agree whole heartedly with nighthawk, people like flecko and die_scum can on and on all they want about the little "windows" of opertunity for cheaters, but if the server runs hlg, I don't think so.

LMAO! It's a new concept, you have to DO THIS ON YOUR OWN SERVER LOL! The vast majority of CS servers obviousely dont have sv_cheats set to 1, nor will you find a admin stupid enough to actually turn it on for you (Well maybe I shouldn't say that lol, there arew newbie admins out there)



What's really funny though is I admin 3 servers (2 TFC 1 CS) and every so often I'll get some dumbass trying to "tell me" to turn on sv_cheats 1 ROFLMAO!

Half-Life is worth getting for sure, because then you can play TFC as well (the second largest player group beside's CS). As for Blue Force, I heard most people say it was too short. If anything get HL and the Opposing Force addon. That addon I enjoyed, was fun actually. :)

you can play tfc with cs retail, but half life is just a great game to begin with, cept for towards the end with the more and more aliens crap (which I always thought was overly corny as hell)

Valve obviously updated their anti-cheat modules again. In their statement, they say that also OpenGL Hack v2.0 is detected and non-cheating voodoo users won't be banned anymore. Nevertheless, I still couldn't get VAC detecting me with 1.8, 1.9 or 2.0 so the detection method is still very inaccurate since others also reported to me that they were not detected

There are still cheaters using OGC among us.

Just thought i would share this with you guys.

This is from the OGC site.

Valve obviously updated their anti-cheat modules again. In their statement, they say that also OpenGL Hack v2.0 is detected and non-cheating voodoo users won't be banned anymore. Nevertheless, I still couldn't get VAC detecting me with 1.8, 1.9 or 2.0 so the detection method is still very inaccurate since others also reported to me that they were not detected. I've set v2.0 as 'not VAC proof' as a prevention. But whether or not the new VAC is really detecting cheaters/non-cheaters, will be shown in the next few days.



Anyways, use the OpenGL Hacks v1.9 and v2.0 with care and tell me if you're not detected with it so I can work out a rule for this behaviour. I'm in the meantime working on the next version.

TFC comes with CS retail =)



Along with Opposing Force Multiplayer (No SP)



Also Half-Life Redemption comes with it. So did Ricochet, so all us Retailers already had it.



Half Life Deathmatch, Deathmatch Classic, etc also works.



And most mods for download to do, like Day of Defeat.



Actually getting Half-Life is great if you want Half-Life Single player though :P



I hope mods work on Condition Zero, I don't want to have 2 installations of Counter-Strike.
