While they would no doubt make more money with all the kiddies purchasing off Steam, I suppose a credit card purchase kind of guarantees that the people purchasing CS:S/HL2 are over the age limit for the game.

You can only have a switch/maestro card in the uk if your over 16 (hl2 age limit is 15)
