  • Two-Step Verification is Finally Here for PlayStation Network

Breathe a sigh of relief tonight because two-factor authentication (or 2-Step Verification as it's called here) has finally come to the PlayStation Network in North America.

It is strongly advised that you enable this security measure as soon as possible to protect your account. This is especially important now as there seems to be a rise in the number of PSN accounts being publicly reported as having been stolen.

To enable "2-Step Verification" through your PlayStation 4:
    Settings > PlayStation Network/Account Management > Account Information > Security > 2-Step Verification

This is also available through the PlayStation website under the Account tab > Security.
A link will send you to the proper area to set up 2-Step Verification.

You will be prompted to enter in your cell phone number. A text will be sent to you with a code that you will enter into the dialogue box. That's it. It's verified and you are now sitting with a safer PlayStation Network account. Better late than never, right?
