Activision Blizzard Acquires King

Activision Blizzard has finalized their acquisition of King. Last November, the companies agreed to a deal that would find the Candy Crush developer becoming part of Activision Blizzard for $5.9 billion (USD).

"We now reach over 500 million users across almost every country, making us the largest game network in the world," says Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick. "We see great opportunities to create new ways for audiences to experience their favorite franchises, from Candy Crush to World of Warcraft to Call of Duty and more, across mobile devices, consoles and personal computers."

Riccardo Zacconi (CEO), Sebastian Knutsson (CCO), and Stephan Kurgan (COO) will remain on and run the business as an "independent division."
