Ubisoft announced today that there will not be any new Assassin's Creed game coming in 2016. The franchise has been annualized for a number of years now up until now. For 2016, Ubisoft says that they are going to take time to "re-examine the Assassin's Creed franchise."
Related to this news is the rumor that there will be a compilation of the previous Assassin's Creed titles updated and released as a pack for current generation platforms. With no new Assassin's Creed confirmed for this year, this could very well become a reality.
