The PlayStation Store, at least the web browser version of it, now allows you to make wishlists. You can quickly add a game or other media piece to your wishlist by clicking on a heart icon next to the price listing. It is then added to your wishlist that only you and your friends, or you alone, can see.
Could this be a step on the road to gifting through the PlayStation Store? It seems entirely plausible, especially how the privacy settings are defaulted to allowing your friends to view your wishlist items.
