World of Warcraft Soon to Allow Players to Buy Game Time with In-Game Gold

Taking a page from Eve Online and WildStar, Blizzard will soon allow players to buy more game time by spending in-game gold. Players will be able to purchase a "WoW Token" through the in-game shop using real world money. They can either use it to add 30 days of game time to their account or sell it on the game's Auction House at the "current market price."

That quoted price is guaranteed no matter how volatile the market is. Also, once purchased from the Auction House, that Token is then soulbound to your character and cannot be re-traded to game the system. In case you haven't picked up on this bonus fact, this also means that people can now legally buy WoW gold simply by buying a token with real money and then selling it in the game through the Auction House.

This is a big win-win for those looking to score some easy in-game gold and those looking to score some easy game time without "paying." The exact price of these tokens will be announced at a later date.
