Spiral Game Studios "Thrilled" to Shut Down

Well this is an odd one. Spiral Game Studios, the studio behind the lackluster Orion: Prelude and Orion: Dino Horde is now "thrilled" to shut down.

I am thrilled to announce the end of Spiral Game Studios. All content, IP, research and technology is being absorbed into the newly formed TREK Industries courtesy of the TREK Play label.

The announcement concludes simply with a link to Trek Industries. Trek Industries is a newly formed studio that is now absorbing all of the assets from Spiral Game Studios. This is presumably just a simple change in name for what is essentially the same studio.

Spiral Game Studios ran into some hot water a few years ago when they quickly laid off employees shortly after a successful Kickstarter campaign. It was alleged that those employees were never paid for their work They were then accused of using stolen assets from other games.
