    Mad Catz, the company behind a wealth of third-party peripherals and most of the Rock Band gear still circulating, has filed for bankruptcy and is closing down. The company, which began in 1989, filed for bankruptcy under chapter 7, initiating a liquidation of their assets.

    According to a post by NeoGAF moderator bishoptl, United Front Games, may be shut down. The studio allegedly let employees go earlier today.

    It also looks like their latest game, SMASH+GRAB, is no longer available for sale on Steam. The game was available as recently as yesterday and even has an ongoing free weekend.     Another studio bites the dust at the hands of EA. EA has officially shut down Mythic Entertainment today. EA confirmed the news today with Kotaku.

  • BioShock Developer Irrational Games 'Winding Down' as Most Employees are Laid Off

    Ken Levine updated the Irrational Games website earlier today with a sad message for fans of the BioShock series and System Shock 2, to name a couple. He says that Irrational Games will be "winding down" and that he will be moving to a "smaller, more entrepreneurial endeavor" at Take-Two.
