Reliable industry sources have revealed that the internal cost of development for The Elder Scrolls Online has already surpassed $200 million. The last MMO to hit such lofty costs was Star Wars: The Old Republic, which reportedly cost EA from $200 million (as a low estimate) to upwards of $500 million to develop.
We all remember how well that went for that title, don't we?
