"If you have zero access to the Internet, that (the 360) is an offline device. I mean, when I read the blogs and thought about who really is the most impacted, there was a person who said ‘hey, I’m on a nuclear sub’ – and I don’t even know what it means to be on a nuclear sub - but I imagine it’s not easy to get an internet connection. I can empathize, if I was on a sub, I'd be disappointed."
Smooth, real smooth there Don Mattrick. That was Microsoft's Don Mattrick in an interview with GTTV's Geoff Keighley in talking about the need for the Xbox One to be connected to the Internet once every 24 hours.
Viacom, the company that owns GT and subsequently controls GTTV has been very actively taking down this clip from YouTube. Fortunately, since this is the Internet, a number of mirrors are already up and running. Could we perhaps interest you in a Liveleak mirror?
Perhaps instead you would prefer an official mirror from the Gametrailers YouTube channel with an appropriate time stamp in the interview that takes you directly to the above quote, in full?
I debated on posting this up as news, but this is just too much of a "foot in mouth" scenario to not show to a wider audience. Also there's some weird rumor going around (nothing confirmed) that Microsoft may have paid off some people to not even air the Sony conference on a certain show on SpikeTV. Again, just crazy rumors. Rumors and jokes guys! Lots of 'em!
