EA Now Says They Will Not 'Definitely' Include Microtransactions in All Future Titles

Last week, EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen said that the company will include microtransactions in all future game releases. Fortunately, he decided to clear up his comments today, saying that not all games will have them but that they can have them.
"I made a statement in the conference along the lines of 'We'll have micro-transactions in our games' and the community read that to mean all our games, and that's really not true.

"All of our mobile games will have micro-transactions in them, because almost all of them are going to a world where they are play for free.

"We're building into all of our games the ability to pay for things along the way, either to get to a higher level, to buy a new character, to buy a truck, a gun, whatever it might be."

So what happens now to non-mobile games when it comes to microtransactions? One example here would be a service like Battlefield Premium, that both satisfies the role of additional paid content and being a series of microtransactions (of sorts).
"It allows someone to take a game that maybe they played for 1,000 hours and play it for 2,000 hours. We are very conscious that we don't want to make consumers feel like they're not getting value. We want to make sure consumers are getting value."

      Good link K-16.

I was going to mention the bait and switch also on other titles that were a flat purchase that went to micro transactions. There is no way we will know that, for example, BF:4 wont have transactions at first and then later do have them. Again, not talking map packs or a Premium type thing, but they are obviously testing the waters with the BF:3 option of buying all the weapons in a class or vehicles.

All thanks goes to Zips. I merely linked to his newspost from his research on Wired and Nintendo Gamer. His work, his credit. Not mine. I was merely furious to the point that I couldn't resist posting yet another comment. Those words Mr. Jorgensen said were mother****ing fighting words. I saw red the moment my eyes glazed over that hypocritical sentence. I want blood. EA's blood in return for their lies.

Oh and another example? The Orange Box. VALVe made a huge mistaking trusting EA to make the port. It offered no value compared to the Xbox 360 and PC versions. So Mr. Jorgensen, don't you ****ing EVER speak those words again. You shut your ****ing mouth and you never open it again. "We don't want to make consumers feel like they're not getting value. We want to make sure consumers are getting value" is taboo for you, your company, and your subsidiaries. Shut the Hell up.
