I have only preordered one game in my life, and that's because I knew the game was going to be good. I don't know if this will even be decent, so I'm not preordering it. So I wouldn't get four maps without having to pay, most likely, 15 bucks. 15 bucks for something which I think should have been released with the game at no extra charge or forcing of preordering down my throat.

I think you have plenty of time to decide. We dont know when the beta is or how long the limited edition is available. I dont plan to pre-order until I have a bit more information as well.

Clicking on the pre-order now button on the site takes you to the EA store and the only method they give is digital.

              Sooo, no.

I pre-orderd it. You can do this thing called canceling if you dont like how the product develops, it's a new thing.

Amazon has hard copy LE available for order. If steam gets the LE i'll be switching to that.

It's 2011 now, Its about time to let go of they "IT SHOULD BE FREE" thing, its getting really old, along with unranked dedicated server files and mod tools.

You're the kind of person that enables publishers and developers to do **** like that.

I just stopped living in the past. Games are much more expensive to make now and takes much more work now that everything is Ultra HD. I respect that and choose to move on with gaming rather then hold back in the year 2002 because its not free and its not the way it was 9 years ago. Things change, you can either continue to sit in hopes that the past will come back, or move on and make the best of what is currently going on.

Moding for BF3 would be a joke anyway considering that the only mod with a community above 20 has already decided that their going to a new game.

That could be argued, with making multiplatorms it could be cheaper for them to make?Im sure companies dont go backwards in cost spending.

Multiplatform these days and in the case of BF3 is that they have to tap every possible source of money now, success for games these days is measured in the millions of units sold. MOH had a quota of 3 million... it sold 5 mill. Multiplatform for the major companies is indeed a very cost efficient way to build a game for all 3 platforms build one version for the 360 and port to PC and PS3.

I think in the case of BF3 there are actually 2 versions, one being made specifically for the PC and one being made on the PS3 and then ported to the 360.

as with Bc2, the "VIP" content will probably be free to everyone who get it for PC. the pay 15 bucks more for the VIP maps were for the consoles only to discourage 2nd hand sales.

This sort of went out the door with the release of Medal of Honor, sure they still had some "VIP" content locked away on the disc they graciously gave access to those who purchased the game new, but they also had a very lame $10 DLC pack that consisted of one game mode and a few new maps. Thankfully their scheme backfired on them, hardly anyone purchased it and those that did really wished they hadn't.

I do fear that they're going to go nuts with paid DLC for Battlefield 3.

MoH was a failed experiment. you know things will be different with BF3. heck, it's even priced $10 cheaper than MoH, and will be 100x the game it was.
